I decided to get a Switch as soon as I saw the trailer for Odyssey a year ago. I had high expectations, and the game exceeded them. Thanks to Nintendo for giving us this masterpiece.

These reviews don't lie. This is my favorite game of all time. I love this game so much. Everything in it is amazing .There is so much stuff to do and every little thing has had time and care given to it. If you do not have a Nintendo switch, now is the perfect time to get one.

PLEASE make a sequel. We’ll ALL play it. We want to see old areas in the mushroom kingdom such as Isle Delfino, Sarasaland (I wanna see this), even rosalina’s observatory.

This game is honestly a masterpiece. From the get go it hits you with the most stunning visuals we've seen in a Mario game and it captivates you with the small yet most peculiar plot. Everything from visuals to gameplay is perfectly made for anyone who looking for a fun game. It's the perfect blend of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. Every area you get to you feel the need to adventure through looking through every crevice and secret path to get a power moon or a regional coin. The games wants you to explore every single kingdom at every single length and it achieves that. Whether you get a simple power moon or do a tricky quest to get it once you find it you feel the satisfaction of adding one more to your collection. Not to mention the brilliance in actually making coins useful and not some pointless item to collect. Making coins in game currency is such a great idea and it's executed perfectly in the game. The more power moons you get the more items you unlock in the shop and the more interesting and fun the catalog gets. This is truly to me, one of the best Nintendo games ever made and will go down as possibly the best 3D Mario game ever made. My first 3D Mario game was Galaxy and today happens to be 10 years since its release. Imagine all the kids that get to play this as their first Mario game, imagine all the ones getting their Nintendo Switch this holiday season and this is their first look at the Red capped crusader, they're never going to forget this game. Thank you Nintendo, for making such a splendid game, and for all the games you've made and all the memories you've place in not only my heart but anyone who's ever had the opportunity to play your games. Nintendo, the company that knows how to make fun.

4 years since the game’s release and it’s still one of Nintendo’s best Switch games ever! Maybe the greatest Mario Switch game!

I first got this game Christmas Day 2017. I beat the main story mode in 4 days with about 165 moons. About a week later, I got to dark side and beat the Robo Broodal. A month later I got to Darker Side of the moon and spent about 2 weeks trying to beat it (I was only 11 years old at the time). After beating it, I took a break for the game, though I’m not really sure why. I came back at the beginning of quarantine in 2020 and was immediately reminded of how much fun I had back when I first got the game. For the next month and a half, I went from the 503 power moons that I had after first beating darker side, to getting all 880 collectible story moons, got 999 power moons, found and spent all purple coins in every kingdom to get all stickers and models for the Odyssey, got all costumes, and fully 100% beat the game. I had never felt so accomplished. During December 2020, I even went back to do the infinite jump rope glitch to get 99,999 jumps in the metro kingdom jump rope minigame. This is one of my favorite mainline Mario games, and still holds a special place in my heart. It was the most hype I’ve ever had for a video game.

Bought the Nintendo Switch that came with super mario odysseys on the day it released. Pure joy this game is honestly.

Played the game non stop for about 4 days and beat it. Usually when I hear a game I'm done but for this one I'm currently getting every moon it's so damn fun. The taking over enemies and playing in 2D was an awesome idea. The game isn't easy but isn't hard it's the perfect balance. Haven't had to look anything up yet just run around checking everywhere and finding things.

Actually the best game ever made. Easily a contender in the top 5 games of all time. So much passion and love was put into this title. Thank you Nintendo, for being a company that tries, and puts effort into games. I feel like you guys understand us the best. All we gamers really want is a good game. Love you guys!

Congrats to Nintendo on their best year ever! They deserve this! With the release of an incredibly unique console plus 2 masterpiece games all within one year, they earned this. Just please let Zelda be GOTY. Mario is a masterpiece but zelda was even more incredible. Nintendo will release another masterpiece in 2018....Metroid. And Yoshi is looking promising.

It's raining 10s!

Bought a switch just for this game. My little brother and I are having a blast with the game. One of the best game I've played this year. This game brings back so much nostalgia on how platformers were in the good old days and it still managed to hold it's charm.

Every one knew that The Metro Kingdom is largely based off the real world location of New York City Do you know know that Forgotten Isle based on Indonesian Archipelago and Lost Kingdom based on real world Java island, during the game you could heard Gamelan a traditional ensemble music of Java and Bali. the Flying Lizard Draco is Native Animal to this land as well, Lost kingdom based on Ancient Java island in those time Island separated into 4 Small island: Jawa,Kendeng,Muria and Penggon Each Island surrounded by pyroclastic flow river,the last part joint was island Muria around 17th AD .

10/10 IGN???!!!

I've been playing Super Mario Odyssey since Launch Day, and here's what I say about it. WARNING, some spoilers may be in this. "This game was worth the wait that seemed endless. I've gotten around 3/4 of the moons so far, and it has been a joy collecting them, though it will be sad when I get all the moons, and I will have nothing else todo within the game. However, collecting all those moons/regional coins and living through the story while doing some exploring on the side has been a very joyous odyssey. When I've played Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine, while I enjoyed those two classics, being thrown out of the level and fearing the final life would drive me crazy. In Odyssey, they removed those problems, and they cooked up something that is both challenging and enjoyable at the same time. Back in 64, the was only dialogue boxes, in Sunshine, though it was the first Mario game to have full on speaking in the cutscenes, it was too much on some occasions, Odyssey finally found the balance between the two, and made each cutscene enjoyable to see. To me, this game is the true celebration of the 30th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., while also commemorating the 35th anniversary of Donkey Kong on the side, going as far as actually having Donkey Kong appear in the game via the 2D 8-bit Pipe sections in New Donk City. Super Mario Maker was good, but this actually brings 3D Mario back to his roots. This game brought back the challenge of 64 and Sunshine, and it finally gave Mario the controls that we've deserved for years. Though it would have been nice to visit other parts of the Mushroom Planet, such as Isle Delfino, or actually going to every room of Peach's Castle, this game is a straight up Masterpiece. I give it my official Dillon Wright Stamp of Approval. I happily give this game a perfect 100/100."

The game well and truly deserves all the praise it gets, just beat the final boss and tackling the bonus stuff! Such a masterpiece! Both this and BOTW are GOTY material. I’ll be happy if either wins!

I already beat the game, doing most of the side-quests along the way not rushing, but after, not much to do expect try and get more moons and go to darker side. I do like peaches castle though!

I need opinions. I will get the Switch and Mario Oddyssey this christmas. But i’m confused. Should i get the Oddyssey bundle for nintendo switch or get a Neon Switch and but Super mario oddyssey as a Digital copy?

Meanwhile, you can find reviews about the game from people who clearly are either idiots or haven't played the game. Some of them talk about the most unrelated and dumb things, it's almost funny. Especially on Metacritic. Every critic review is above 75 and the overall critic score is 97, and there are so many negative and clueless user reviews.

Nintendo the best option for dlc is Luigi and idle Delfino for like 10 bucks which everyone would love or when you change costumes into characters you actually become them like with the 64 outfit but with everyone and everyone plays differently but that should be an update not dlc
