I tried posting this kind of information on Mike's channel multiple times and he or his team never responded. Genesis 6 & Deuteronomy 32 Explained sons of God Heiser is correct when he said it should be sons of God in Deuteronomy 32:8. Heiser was a word guy the Hebrew would be >>>>(בני האלהים‎, bənê hāʼĕlōhîm>"Remember the days of old". Since Mose wrote Torah, the first 5 books of the Bible, which are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. These "days of old" that Moses mention in verse 7, what Moses is doing is taking the reader back to the Pre-flood time period. Taking Verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) Can 100% be applied as "sons of God" in Deuteronomy 32:8 as well as Genesis 5 and sons of God in Genesis 6. All makes sense and fits with the Author of Torah who is Moses. The argument is, is that there No Abrahamic covenant yet, that is 100% true when a person applies verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) it is more clear and plain to see who the "sons of God" are in both Deuteronomy 32:8 and Genesis 6 Nations are named after a father in scripture. See how many Generations came from Isreal (Jacob) Even the following verses of how the "Text" allows for "sons of Israel" . Deuteromony 32:9 'But the Lord's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage. 10 “He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; he encircled him, he cared for him" Clearly verses 9 and 10 is talking about the "sons of Israel" which would be Jacob's 12 sons/tribes, key words in the text Jacob alotted heritage (Israel). "The Lord's portion is his people" Israel was the Lord's Chosen people The 12 tribes were the ones wondering in the desert land which verse 10 is talking about. That is WHY there is such a debate in the text, both sons of God and children of Israel had "Many Generations". Heiser's divine council of super angels Can Not or Do Not have "Many Generations" Even looking at Psalm 82:6 "I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;" The word "sons" is used in the Plurality, which would be referencing that the "sons" are human pretaining to the 12 tribes of Israel (Jacob's sons). The word "gods" Jesus answers that in John 10 also human. Heiser taught gods/elohim and sons are non human, Psalm 82 is his foundation for his false divine council of super angels. These 12 tirbes (Israel) had the Law of God to govern the people. Elders/Rulers/Judges (gods/elohim/divine council) were part of that governing authority. Nothing angelic (Nonhuman) could govern the people. So naturally Humans are getting scolded in Psalm 82, not anything Nonhuman like angels or spirit beings of a divine council. The "divine council" are the Chosen people of God who given the Law of God. Also had the True Prophets of God. The proper way of interpreting the scripture of Deuteronomy 32:8 whether it should be sons of God or children of Israel? Well which came first the Patriarchs/sons of God, of Genesis 5 and 6 or 12 tribes of Israel, of course it would be the Patriarchs/sons of God which are listed in Genesis 5 with "Many Generations" the longivity of life spans that they would have seen "Many Generations" and did lived old ages. This is ALL in Context, Context Is King!! Have to remember when scripture was first written there were no chapter breaks or verse breaks, that was added later in English Translations of scipture. Small summary, Moses tells us who the sons of God are with Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations in verse 7 would be Applied to sons of God. Deuteronomy 32 7 Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you. 8 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God. Clearly this is NOT about a divine council of super angels. This Heiser guy did NOT understand verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) or Context applied with proper Hermeneutics. He WAS a Blind and False Teacher of scripture when it came to Application, but he was correct in the Translaton of the words sons of God in Deuteronomy 32:8.

Heiser is an apsotate teacher on the elohim, Jesus answers the question long before Heiser. Heiser's biggest problem is he leaves out Jesus and the Prophet Asaph. When a person read it in the original Hebrew, and you will see the difference between Yahweh as Elohim above all Elohim and the council itself as a lower classification of elohim. Jesus answers the lower classification of elohim (gods) in John 10: 34 35. Asaph the Prophet writes Psalm 82: 1 "God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: Psalm 82:6 - “I said, you are gods.” John the Disciple/Apsotle writes Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? 35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), The lower class of elohim (gods) in Psalm 82 are human NOT non human/angels WHY because the word of the Lord came to Prophets, God Spoke thru Prophets to the nation of Israel/Jews (Human). The Jews were also given the Law and had the Prophets. NO nonhuman/angel is ever referred to as a Prophet in scripture or were given the Law, Of course angels are messengers in scripture, but that is it. The Law and Holy Scriptures were given to the nation of Israel/Jews NOT to non humans/angels. How God takes His place in the divine council is by the Prophet Asaph who wrote Psalm 82 and by the Law which was given to the Nation of Israel. What is KEY is that a Prophet of God like Asaph carried and handled the words of the Lord God, Prophets were the VOICE of God that is why it is IMPORTANT that Jesus fulfills these words...... Jesus holds the answer of the "gods" (lower class elohim/gods), they are human in both Psalm 82 and John 10.

Most people are even unaware of who wrote Psalm 82. Asaph the prophet wrote Psalm 82 as well as other Psalms 50, 73-81 and 83. Prophets were the "VOICE" of God that is why it is IMPORTANT that Jesus Repeats and Fulfills these words...... Heiser likes to leave out the "I said" declaration of Jesus (Son) in John 10 and the the "I said" by God (Father) speaking thru the Prophet Asaph of Psalm 82. Jesus is God, God is ONE God made up of 3 persons Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The "I said" delararation is no different than an "I am" declaration. 3. The Godhead/Trinity This is how the 3 persons within the Godhead opearate and function. Only the Holy Spirit (God) can convince a person to understand why the Son (God) has to fulfill the words that the Father (God) that were spoken by the prophet like Asaph and other prophets as well in the Old Testament. It is Said that Jesus has fulfilled over 350 prophecies of in the New Testament from the prophets from the Old Testament. Even Isaiah the prophet who wrote Isaiah 53 was the "Voice" of God in the Old Testament, so Jesus can Fulfill what was said in Isaiah 53.....Isaiah 53 is about the Crucifixion of Christ. Jesus has Ownership to both prophets Isaiah and Asaph of what they wrote and how God (Father) spoke thru them. Prophets were given the word of the Lord 4. Jesus is the word/Word become flesh John 1: 14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." Jesus fulfills the Law and the Prophets, Jesus says in Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill." No super angels of a divine council were ever given the Law and the Prophets, it would be the Nation of Israel 5. To address to "die like men" In Psalm 82: 7 is Referring to those bad elders, rulers, leaders or judges within the nation of Israel that have High Authority, they favor the wicked and judge unjustly, they do not follow through with their responsibilities, duties, and do not represent God or the law, these High Officials are just men, they have High Rank so they will die like men. They are human not divine beings. God has always set up rulers within the nation of Israel and even throughout the world. In Numbers 11: 16 “So the LORD said to Moses: “Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; bring them to the tabernacle of meeting, that they may stand there with you.” 1 Samuel 8 : 1-4 When Samuel became old, he made his sons judges over Israel. 2 The name of his firstborn son was Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beersheba. 3 Yet his sons did not walk in his ways but turned aside after gain. They took bribes and perverted justice. 4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. God has ALWAYS set up Governements in the world not just with in the Nation of Israel, Romans 13: 1 "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God." 6. Clearly the "gods/elohim" of Psalm 82 are human judges, some even apply kings. The Old Testament has a book called Judges as well as two other books 1 Kings & 2 Kings. No book in scripture is applied to something nonhuman or angelic. Psalm 82:6 "“I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’.... The word "sons" used in this passage is an "Adoptive" Term for Israel, Israel was the chosen people of God. 7. Psalm 89 has NOTHING to do with Psalm 82. Hieser likes to mix those chapters together. Psalm 89 is in the heavenly and spirtual realm when Psalm 82 is on the earth and the physical world. The same logic heavenly and spiriitual would apply to 2 Chronicles 18:21 and 1 Kings 22:19-23 where it mentions a scene in heaven and the lying spirit. The heavenly hosts in scripture refers to the sun, moon and stars. In Summary The Humans are Jewish rulers in both Psalm 82 and John 10. Psalm 82 Jewish rulers like judges or even kings. John 10 Jewish rulers like pharissees. Psalm 82 would be human, NOT a bunch of super angels, like Heiser promotes. Heiser throws Jesus under the bus. Heiser CANNOT answer the question of the gods/elohim of Psalm 82 becasue Jesus has already answered the question of the gods/elohim in John 10. Jesus has Ownership to the answer, since Jesus is addressing humans in John 10 the same would be humans are being addressed in Psalm 82, not a bunch of super angels of a divine council. Heiser has manipulated so many minds and has triggered the mind to think this "divine council" is non human. Jesus clearly gives us the answer the divine council is human. The phrase and title given "you are gods" is a legalistic title of Authority because the Jews were given the Law and as well as judge with the law. The Jews were given the Law and 10 commandments to govern them and council them, so it is imposible for this to be nonhuman spirit beings or angels. The Jews also had the True Prophets of God. God also established covenants with Humans, not nonhuman spirit beings or angels. 😀😃🙂

Here is a better way of putting your comment, sorry angels are NOT elohim. Elohim with a capital E is the trinity. El/Father/creator, plural/Yeshua/the word, Holy Spirit/ruach. Elohim with a small e, elohim is plural for his creation’s of his family the elohim. The Adopted sons of God (Patriarchs, Israel, Church) are the elohim and when we die, our spirit goes back to El, where we reunite in paradise and will also receive a Glorified/Resurrected body the true Image of God as His Children. Jesus is the perfection of the law and fulfills the law as well as the prophets, and we will be reunited with Christ for the millennium period before the great white throne judgment to teach the truth/ learn, and discipline. No Yawyeh is not God the creator of the universe. He is one of the gods known as the Elohim. He leads the Israelites and ferments war. The rules and the way of worship for thr Jews was changed under King Josiah. Check out Paul Wallis and Mauro Belingo. I am just learning this myself.

That's a great question... I read a scholarly book about the dead sea scrolls a while ago and was totally caught off guard. Let me explain... The dead sea scrolls are the most ancient scriptures and other writings that we have intact. They included so much that I had no understanding of... There were rituals, ceremonies and prayers that all included these things or related things to what Dr. Heisler talks about. The old world did have a different worldview... I think a better way to analogize it would be to say how we in the twenty first century think about our history over the last 400-500 years... The things that led up to coming to the Americas, the revolutionary war, the way our government was formed, the civil war, culture being formed, sports, entertainment.... We understand these things and how they formed... Well they had a similar understanding of how their works formed too.... And it was truly a different world view.

Php 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Php 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Php 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him... (after death - no longer in the human body) This means we can do what Jesus did... He is the way, right? We are to follow Him right? To where? Back to the glory: 1Co 2:7 But rather what we are setting forth is a wisdom of God once hidden [from the human understanding] and now revealed to us by God--[that wisdom] which God devised and decreed before the ages for our glorification [to lift us into the glory of His presence]. 1Jn 3:2 My loved ones, now we are children of God, and at present it is not clear what we are to be. We are certain that at his revelation we will be like him; for we will see him as he is. 1Jn 3:3 And everyone who has this hope in him makes himself holy, even as he is holy.
