My teacher last year hid us behind a closet door that was next to the actual door and stood there in front of it and said “if someone is trying to hurt you I won’t resist to break their arm” I felt safe in that class

“don’t huddle together, it makes you an easier target” my schools lockdown drill is to close the door and huddle in the corner of the room...

I am Japanese. From the Japanese point of view, I am surprised that the university has its own police force. I think it is necessary to protect the security in the gun society. I hope students don't have to get involved in the emergencies shown in the video.

I remember in 6th grade I had a science teacher. He was also the cross country coach. He was a tall dark hair skinny guy. He was such a cool dude who even would play the guitar for us. He was really good. One time, we were talking abt a school shooter in class. And he said “I’m a science teacher. I have acids in here. If someone is trying to hurt my students, I won’t hesitate to disfigure their face.”

Okay some tips When you’re running 1. Take off your backpack it’ll likely slow you down and make it easier to catch 2. Stay quiet 3. Know where the attacker is When you’re hiding 1. Make it stable 2. Make sure to stay quiet 3. Don’t make it obvious where you’re hiding 4. Don’t let them in (obviously) When you’re on defense 1. Don’t take up karate poses if you don’t know how they work 2. Don’t fight alone 3. You might need to do punch,kicking,biting,clawing and hiting

I am no expert, but I think that the "Fight" option should have included two additional points: "Fight in a group - There is no such thing as a 'fair fight' when dealing with an armed gunman. If you can co-ordinate your actions against the gunman with one or more other people, your chances of winning increase substantially.", and "Keep fighting - Until the Police arrive and take over, do not stop fighting against the gunman. Do not back off, do not stop - your life may depend on it". I think that alot of people have it drilled into them to fight fair, and not to fight viciously. We are prone to pull our punches. When it should be clearly reinforced that, if you have a fire extinguisher and you are against someone with a gun, all the rules need to go out the window. It is quite literally you or him, and you need to be sure that you live.
