No protection in the world will save someone from a crash at those speeds. Unless he gets really lucky and slides of the bike without touching anything (pretty hard prospect being that he is riding on public streets at tremendous speeds).

Regardless of ability there are times when its simply common sense to take it easy, I ride like this guy out in the countryside but not in town, I'm also head to toe in protective gear even though I know hitting a solid piece of street furniture will kill me, however I've had 44 years experience, I very much doubt he'll be around in five years time on a bike.
