Different networks are distributing it. If CW had been the initial distributor of Swamp Thing it would not have been cancelled. CW has more security and is more supportive of its shows generally.

Astro Dracula It’s not that they didn’t believe in it, it’s that the show went over budget due to an accounting error and it cost them too much money for them to keep making it.

That was roughly half the proposed budget for s1 (which is stimated at $80m)" - When NC discovered the error, the corrected. WB shut down production, realizing they'd be taking a bath on the rebate and paying for far more of it than assumed. The adjusted number from NC is something like $14m. That's a massive difference. - Jhon Golson - There won't be a s2 because it's now too expensive to maintain the levels of quality for s1, especially for a niche platform, and there's no great reason to keep production on standby when the deal in NC is no good for them anyway.

Problem with DC is they concentrated on Batman and Superman for almost 30 yrs before thinking of expanding to give other superheroes screen time on either the big screen and small screen. CW kick-started an okie dokie Arrowverse. But the stuff from their online portal is amazing. Doom Patrol might not have been what anyone expected but was fun and worth a watch, any day better than CW stuff. This can only get better. And darker

@@cap8032 yes and no. They were promised massive tax incentives/rebates from NC to the tune of 40 million. NC didn’t come close to following through. JJ Abrams JL Dark projects should connect to this, this would be a great jumping off point.
