This idea kind of reminds me of the short story “mask of the red death” basically a rich prince invites his friends to party in his palace while a plague is ongoing in their country, and each room is a different color/time of day. Eventually the plague comes to the ball he hosts and runs after him through each room, until the last one where he dies. Wild story.
