Can i referance Bluewater barges ( NIKKI on the DBA website) and the blog for WANDERLUST a PIPER who had real problems with paintwork with Wanderlust having many other problems also in fact making it a lottery on purchasing a new product, I have come to the conclusion if you own a barge you must be good with your hands and also have a good tool range.AQUALINE have also had paintwork problems in the past but apart from a leaky dog box the craft looked good, the only letdown for fulltimeliving was cabin fever in that small saloon in the winter months and single glazing in the wheelhouse ( you never showed the freezer ? ) My own barge if and when I jump in would be similar a berth each end king beds a must im over 6ft, im also looking for a long saloon with the extra derv heater so my conclusion is its going to be 65ft or a 70ft , pipers make a 14ft 9 width thats a good advantage the Aqualine is 12ft 6. Another thing to think about if using on the rivers in europe is a uprated engine 150 / 170 to make progress a lot of standard barges are very underpowered for anything other than still waters on a canal. research the makers well Pipers do not use a shot blaster they dont own one, Bluewaters do have a shot blaster , as do Nicholls barges, Aqualine im not sure. On the resale values PIPERS seem to win overall and also sell faster. Having looked on the used market for quite a while now im thinking new PIPER and as long as possable but with less bells and whistles to go wrong. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR QUEST.
