You better put a rubber cover over the lock mechanism. On the back of the bus it will pick up dirt and wet and soon be useless. I had a similar thing with a truck cap handle.

If you break the handle off like I did(accidentally) no one, not even you, can get in from the outside lol

I'm not sure it's that your lazy. I think it might be procrastination. You haven't had a 9 to 5 job in a while and it's easy to put things off when you aren't on a clock. I know Isaac uses lists to keep him moving, but I think hes by nature a self starter. Prayers work.

Just food for thought and not a knock down in any way at all. That's the beauty in building YOUR OWN and MAKING IT YOUR OWN. But JMO, I myself would have to come up with something different for a locking mechanism. Here's why. If you have that locked on the outside, and god for bid a fire happens in the center section of the bus and you're sleeping in the back bed... How do you escape? Speaking of, do you have a smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector on your bus. Better safe then sorry, I encourage you to get both. Also talk to Isaac about the fireballs or Josh with Crowned in Style where he put his own fire retardant protection in tubes over his batteries. Designed if the materials are melted from heat, then a fire extinguishing type powder is dropped over the area in hopes to put the fire out or at least buy you time to get out. Can't be to safe bro. So back to the lock. Is it possible to leave the lock open and don't close that hasp when sleeping inside? Then build you some kind of rubber loop that will swing over the interior handle and hold it in place so that you are securely locked in at night but in the event of fire, you move your loop and out the back door you go. As said, just food for thought. Want you to stay safe as possible Dawg as well as secure being part of that being safe. BTW, I don't think the screws needed silicone. They have their own finish on them to handle the elements. Of course, you didn't hurt a thing either so no harm. In case we don't see you until next week, Happy Thanksgiving Bro !!!

The whole reason there is a back door (it is also an emergency exit). If you get in a wreck roll it on it's side, fire or whatever the case may be you need a quick exit. Put a latch on the inside so you can open the door to get out.

Why did you put the lock on the outside? What if a fire breaks out in the front of the bus and you can't escape out the back because the door is locked from the outside. Doesn't seem too safe being on the outside.
