Its not that Inoue wasn't good enough for the Olympic. Its all politics in Japan when it comes to who get to represent the country. Inoue is the Japanese amateur boxer with the most KO in its amateur boxing history.

When Naoya Inoue turned professional, he insisted that the contract stipulates he only fights the best. No tune-up fights. He considers lack of motivation the biggest risk of defeat and he is only motivated when fighting against the best boxers around. At 118lb there were no one left after he had demolished the likes of Manny Rodriguez (now IBF champ), Jason Maloney (now WBO champ), Nonito Donaire (then WBC champ), and Paul Butler (then WBO champ). So now the Monster is on his campaign to wipe out 122lb. He has already smashed Fulton (Ring #1) and Tapales (Ring #2). After Nery (Ring #5), there are talks that Inoue will fight Akhmadaliev (Ring #3) in Dubai and then against Sam Goodman (Ring #4) in Australia before moving up to 126lb in 2025. He is at his very best when facing the toughest opponent. Thanks for the good show.

I like your videos but I gotta ask.....why do you call him the Japanese superstar, Japanese guy, etc. instead of his Name?? Is it because you have difficulty pronouncing it? Anyway, not having a go, just notice it a lot, and I'm glad you highlight the hypocrisy of western boxers and boxing fans!! Naoya Inoue is definitely my favorite fighter around today!! Can't wat till Nery fight and will laugh my tits off it he goes to 126 and has to face Fulton again!!
