at the beginning it was hard for me to stop associating sadie with the child that she played on stranger things, then after the dinner scene with his friends when she mentioned how they were all older than her i realized that the casting was completely intentional. dylan and sadie were absolutely perfect in these roles, the casting couldn't have been better

Part of what makes this work so well is Sadie has this "every woman" vibe about her. She could be your daughter, your little sister, your niece...even yourself at that age. Just very relatable and likable...hard to put my finger on it.

I love the motif with her hair. Any time she's with him alone, especially in the beginning she wears her hair naturally curly, which gives her a more youthful look. But whenever she tries to fit into his scene or impress him her hair is pin straight or styled more mature maturely. Almost like she looses her sense of self both physically and mentally. The scene crying in her bed hit hard when she had her hair pulled back in a pony tail with her natural hair texture.
