here after the snippet of mine tv, it made me tear up a little so i had to come back and watch the video. i'm just so proud of her and so happy she she will finally own this masterpiece again. taylor, i love you so much!

Not gonna lie. This song isn’t made for crying but when I listened to it after my parents got into big fights, ddamn... the lyrics hit me. I saw every relationship crumbling all around me and thought to myself "maybe love isn’t meant to last, I’ll always be better off alone". I always thought Mine was a beautiful and lovely song but wow, the lyrics... "Wondering why we bother with love, if it never lasts" is just mind-blowing and so relatable. Listening to Mine and Begin Again right after, it is the perfect combo to start anew and believe in love again😭

One fact people forget all the time is that she wrote the whole Speak Now album by herself. She is the sole songwriter for this. So one could say it's her most "personal" release. Which is why I absolutely dig the album. The country pop tune and acoustic melody it has is just the bonus.
