Teddy is dead on with his take. Watching this fight was one of the most emotional hours of my life. To see two people leave absolutely everything in the ring, and then to have a Hollywood ending thrown in on top - just indescribable. I will be very surprised if I ever see a greater fight.

I had a teacher in 6th grade who was a retired pro fighter, it was a program so we were all boys etc. On fridays if we weren't being assholes he'd put on a fight. He showed us Corrales Castillo. My 12-13 year old brain thought Diego Corrales was the hardest motherfucker who ever lived afterwards. Ill never forget that a whole class of rowdy kids just glued to the screen losing our shit. RIP Corrales you were a fucking legend

This really had to be one of the most entertaining fights ive seen i remember seeing this as a child i never sat down the ending was like out of a movie. You can see winky wright in the background going nuts.

Holyfield v Bowe I. Taylor v Chavez I. Corrales v Castillo. Barrera v Morales I. Ward v Gatti I. Pacquiao v Marquez I... There have been a few over recent decades to deserve entry to the canon. Can't think of any in the last few years though. Fighters now are willing to put less on the line -- and who can blame them. They know what it will mean in future life. The majority of the great fighters from the 80s and 90s are either dead or struggle to talk clearly. You'll never see guys like Leonard, Duran, Hagler and Hearns again - guys willing to go to the darkest places to win.

Alistair Hann Nonsense. Guys still risk their lives everyday in that ring. You just romanticize the past. Nothing’s changed. When you’re much better than the competition you don’t have to worry about a dogfight. That don’t mean you didn’t take a challenge. More money + More Regulation = Less Fights a year. Fighters in the 40s had 100+ fights and made less than half a million for them. Fighters today have 20 fights and are millionaires. Anybody could’ve gotten into Boxing back then the sport was more accessible and easy to go pro- now there’s a high barrier for entry and it’s niche and hard to find. We’ve got the best competitors ever in today’s game.

To fight the way Diego did was astronomical I had the opportunity to meet him in Vegas before the Castillo fight and he was the most humble guy I have ever had the blessing to meet,we look at these guys as entertainers,showmen,warriors, but most of all they are our brothers,rip my brother and know that boxing has missed you enormously,god bless family

Both were great fighters. I was watching the fight with my dad and my dad was a jose luis fan and I was a corrales fan . I was pretty much mad at my dad because he was screaming out loud and then corrales comes back and wins . This was sweet. Amazing fighters

I always doubted that the mouthpiece thing was intentional and I attributed it to him just being absolutely rocked. After hearing Teddy explain it, I get it now. What a stroke of genius to be stunned in that moment but to have the cognitive ability to strategically implement that move.

Hey gentlemen to be honest corrales got the mouthpiece trick from his previous fight with acelino freitas were freitas takes out his mouthpiece out several times to buy time it just didn't work for him. That's were corrales got that from.

Thats what Joshua tried to do by spitting out the mouthpiece and that was his excuse, he says he was waiting for the ref to get his mouthpiece washed off but the referee didnt let him away with that.

Corrales passed me on his bike a few hundred feet before his fatal motorcycle accident. I didnt know who it was until a few days later. Luckily I think he died painlessly but it was gruesome. Ill never forget it. A few blocks past walmart on Ft Apache. I saw him in my side view mirror coming up hot n it scared the girl I was with when he passed by because he was hammering down. Not even 2 seconds later it was a boom, dust and carnage. Break lights and sparks. Sombre moment. Helluva night.

Atlas should stick to this instead of trying to break down MMA. Last round of this fight was a farce, again boxing embarrassing itself with corruption.
