"We took responsibility for our country" is what it boils down to. I remember telling my wife at the time (she is from Kherson) that Russia offered a "better deal". The key is that Ukraine voted for less corruption and more equality when they had the "Euromaidan revolution". It has made slow but steady progress since then, and the war has accelerated that progress. The corruption has grown noticeably less, and no longer blatant and open. Even members of my wife's family who were against this at the time are very much for it now (to the point of returning from their job out of the country and taking up arms). It really takes a generation to change the values and expectations of society, so it is still a work in progress. Thinking back on it, seeing the change was not obvious, but after almost a decade, the tiny year to year change becomes obvious. When Ukraine wins this war, I now have faith that things will continue to improve for the average Ukrainian, because this is what they want.

The best proof that things have improved is when a leader loses an fair election and then shakes hands with the winner and lets them get on with the job. I am confident that will be the class in Ukraine, but is yet to happen in Russia.

It’s shocking to see people making such statements. The standard of living has drastically diminished post maidan, not to mention the “extrajudicial killings by the gov and/or it’s agents” (u.s. State Dept 2021), and the shelling of residential areas in the east. Ukraine has created language laws, shut down/nationalized media outlets, outlawed political parties, and made implementation of the Minsk peace agreement illegal, choosing to continue waging war on their people in donbass rather than giving them a level of autonomy within Ukraine. In the u.s., and aligned countries, information that would bring into question the justification or morality of providing weapons to Ukraine is not acceptable for the u.s. gov because they do not care about the Ukrainian people, only that their geopolitical aims continue.

China and India are getting a little cheap oil from Russia but it’s delivered by ship around Africa do won’t make a huge difference. I believe that the Ukrainian people have been through so much in the past few years and we as a nation of civilized people made a deal with them in which we promised to defend them if they were to give up the nuclear weapons that they had when they decided to break away from the Soviet Union and we failed them when they were invaded in 2014 and we are not fulfilling what we promised still. So I think that if we are going to fulfill our promise to Ukraine we should at least give them everything that they need to drive Russia out of Ukraine that means everything not what we want to give them. If they had never given up the nuclear weapons in the beginning of their independence we would not be going through this now. Because Russia would have never invaded Ukraine if they had the weapons that we talked them into giving up. So stop cherry picking the weapons that we are sending and just give them everything that they want and need to get the Russian military out of Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine

The 4 nuclear powered and armed submarines of the Russian Federation have moved their naval base to Novo Rossiyisk to the East. 21:02 precisely! The line at Mariupol would be an ideal anchor ⚓ to the new Ukraine lines. Building the previous lines from Donetsk to the border and Luhansk city to the border. Starobilsk is the target in Luhansk. With Crimea being more long term and a different territorial issue.? Manpower remains a concern. Is the ZSU army still at 185,000 strength? Russia has deployed 39,000 men since September. I don't think that soldiers laying on the ground are a threat, because easely to control if there are more than one soldiers on the other side involved. Shooting at them, even if there's a "uncontrolled situation", while someone shoots at them from somewhere else, is a) done because of anxiety through the not "finished captivity measures" (not searched for hidden weapons and tied up) of those soldiers who "allegdly" surrendered, or b) through taking advantage of all of them, because of revenge, what could be a warcrime. The videos footage is rather bad and shows the effects only. So, there's much playground to speculate and only a investigation can verify what really was happening there. Where I condemn ALL warcrimes I really can't say, well that's a warcrime or it isn't!

I have been following this war fairly diligently since 24/02/2022. What has happened here with people across Ukraine living without power is utterly heartbreaking. It begs the question. Rather than attempt to demoralise the Ukrainian populace to force a capitulation. Does all Putin want here is his pound of flesh? If he can’t take Ukraine he might seem to just want to destroy whatever is there for the sake of it. Cause as much pain and turmoil as he can out of vicious spite. For the Ukrainian people and for the West supporting their fight. I just hope that in the end of this the Russian government loses. I hate to say it, but I’m looking quite favourably at NATO getting in there and bringing his army to ruin.

CORRECT..If Ukraine would not have killed 15000 russian language speakers in Donbas since 2014, would there be any war now? Ukraine also burned alive cca 100 russian speakers in Odesa prior this war and so on.....,would there be any war , if Ukraine did not do those horrible things in past? Could Mexico try to make a military deal with Russia and China in order to let Russia and China to built some military bases inside Mexico? Would USA like that, or decide to fight Mexico? Did USA and U.K. commited genocide, when they killed cca 1000.000 !!! people in Iraq for no real reason at all? Send me your theory please.
