Even the reasoning that the switch can't handle a Tetris game seems pretty pathetic to me.. maybe they should bring in more 8bit Indie side scrollers and charge $20 for them

@@bleedzorange1490 Every single dot on the screen moving at once, like grains of sand, can truly make a console chug. Especially a handheld. It's amazing Tetris Effect could run at 60fps 180hz on PSVR when rendered twice for each eye.

YES! This means that every (good) official variant of modern Tetris is available on the Switch! I've wanted to play Tetris Effect so badly, enough so that I was looking to buy a PS4 or Oculus Quest at one point just to play this game. I'm hoping for 30 FPS, I think that's fairly reasonable for a Tetris game, but maybe we'll get an Ori and the Will of the Wisps situation where the game somehow runs better on the Switch than it does on the base Xbox One. Either way, this is an instant buy for me, no matter what the performance may be.

It's Tetris, I expect it to run no less than 60FPS. They'll probably tone down some of the effects to compensate.

It's also on PC. I don't have a great machine and I have to bump the settings WAY down to get it to play smoothly. Still fun. So I'm really not sure if Switch can handle 60fps. I guess it depends on how the porting team optimizes it

@@chrismaghintay Yeah, the PC version is kind of badly optimized. But when I tone the settings down, the effects aren't noticeably different anyways.

Just a few days ago I‘ve asked myself, why Tetris Effect has yet to come to the Switch. I‘m honestly surprised and very happy this is coming to Switch. I‘ve played Tetris Effect with my big brother on the PS4 and it‘s such a breathtaking experience. Easily one of the best versions of Tetris to exist.

I saw someone saying that the switch couldn’t handle tetris effect so that was my answer to that question the whole time, tetris effect is super demanding, it kept crashing every time I tried to play it from the windows store but I was able to play it on epic games maybe because they have different servers? Idk. In the game I was able to make the game less laggy by turning down the render thing

It's great that it's coming to even more platforms. Sure, it won't be the maxed out experience on PC (which is amazing) but it'll still be Tetris Effect on Switch

@@christopherson93 If you mean Tetris Effect Connected, the update is coming real soon. Tetris 99 was either co-developed or published by Nintendo, so that one is never leaving the Switch

Impressive. VERY impressive. I wished this would come to the Switch and it’s now here, but there is one detail that didn’t make sense. How is Tetris Effect an indie game!? That’s like saying Lumines is an indie game or something. I never expected this game to be in Indie World!

@@sketchpen777 just look at these graphics. Many of the models and backgrounds are made up of particles. Many many particles. The Switch would have to deal with all that, and it manages, and even better, in 60FPS!

Wumbo is gonna be happy about this... Also took them long enough to port this game... Especially confusing considering one of the modes is classic tetris which was freaking born on Nintendo entertainment system!! Tetris 99 better do a Tetris effect event! If you've read this far, here's a fun fact: This game was made by Tetsuya Mizaguchi, who also created Space Channel 5 and Lumines!

Tetris was first on PCs in 1986. The first Nintendo console it was on was the Game Boy and then it got released on the NES later. The history of the game is very interesting indeed.
