I feel the need to clarify that the question in Hitchhikers Guide is NOT “what is the meaning of life?”. Deep Thought is asked “what is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything?”. Deep thought answers the question as “42”, revealing that actually no one knew what “the ultimate question” was. Deep Thought didn’t know what the question was either, he just knew that, whatever it was, the answer was 42. The fact that no one knows the question is the the entire joke behind the “42” answer, and yet everyone seems to have just reattributed it to being the meaning of life, which completely ruins the point of the gag.

It's funny you mention this because I was forced to take Spanish in high school and then in college when I wanted to take Japanese I had a much easier time pronouncing everything turn a lot of my classmates did because of my experience taking Spanish and a lot of how everything is pronounced is also phonetic to a certain degree

English speakers not getting Spanish pronunciation is a weird phenomenon me. Cuz it's like the English language is so complicated and contradictory with its pronunciations, rules that make exception for other rules or that rarely even apply, that to a native speaker a completely phonetic and consistent language like Spanish is the complicated thing. Whereas most languages are hard to pick up because they are complicated, like English, Spanish is hard to pick up because it is simple.

@@billbill6094 100% agreed, I've always thought that spanish is relatively easy to learn (most letters always sound the same, you could tell which syllable should be accentuated just by reading a word). But when your first language is english (or other not latin languages), I understand why it's difficult. You have to basically relearn how to do certain sounds.
