The guest was giving him nothing. Adam would try to start a riff and the guest would give a three word reply about how depressed he is. I'm convinced Nick and Adam set up that phone call ahead of time. Like, if the podcast was getting boring and the guest sucked, Nick told Adam to make up some excuse to call him.
