@@maddoxmartin5698 Close...they go for $6,200. I just looked at one but I cannot justify that price for a 9mm handgun. It's the same "Do I really want an HKMP5" argument I had with myself before turning it down. That was the time I got into owning and shooting rifles. I was looking at getting an MP5 variant (semiautomatic) or an AR-15 A3 in early 2000. The Colt was far cheaper (like $3,000 cheaper) and man did I have fun with that rifle. Thankfully, I live in Florida so I can basically have whatever I want. I'm still very much into rifles and my armory has expanded well beyond that old A3 (still have it).

I thought that putting a gas operation in a pistol would be a good idea. Fixed barrel so more accurate and you can put most silencers on without much worry in performance

You don't necessarily need gas operation for that, any delay mechanism is good. I suggest you check out Maxim's non NFA project, designed to be the best suppressor host out there.

@@highsped I wouldn't call it unusable, it all depends on the purpose. In a defensive situation, you're not gonna fire that many rounds anyways, in competition you may have time to let it cool down before having to shoot another stage. I clearly wouldn't choose it for a special operations duty gun (like the Mk23), where you may have to rely on it as a primary weapon. And frankly it is cool as heck. Also technically not gas operation. More like gas delayed blowback, but it still gets hot nonetheless, and I agree that it's not the best method, I find mechanical delays (such as roller delayed or wing delayed as the folks at Maxim call theirs), more practical

@@highsped in most pistols with gas operation it is located below the barrel so it gets hot right next to the trigger. In this pistol is it located above. The slide and area around the trigger don’t get too hot even with heavy use.

I mean it is a legitimately innovative pistol with straight up never before done features, which is a rarity nowadays (last one I can remember was the Five Seven, which was also expensive). It’s also precisely machined and thus marketed to competitive shooters, a normal price for such weapons. Makes sense to me.

@Doritos Chips $5k for a pistol that is as innovative as that gun and that includes as many different accessories to include a red dot sight really isn’t out of line at all. I get $5k to you may be to much money but for some it’s no big deal. There are people paying $10-15k for a custom built 1911, so the cost being high or low is all up to the person paying it. I personally can’t currently afford a pistol costing $10k but it doesn’t mean many others may see it as a value.

I think its cool we're starting to see lower placed barrels im excited for the new wave of pistols im hoping will be produced with this style of set up, the chiappa rhino handles pretty well and has great accuracy and i feel like they kind of opened the door for this kind of fire arm

The slide being made like decreased the weight at ejection and helps with the second and third rounds plus the optics are not moving
