The 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, sat down for an hour-long talk with Speedy at the iconic Ben’s Chili Bowl in Washington, DC while discussing his new memoir ‘A Promised Land.’ We connected on everything from his own experiences with racism, defunding the police, the Covid-19 vaccine and whether or not Donald Trump did anything right during his presidency. We also have a conversation about his comments on hip-hop in last week’s interview with 'The Atlantic.' Finally, President Obama pondered whether LeBron will ever reach Michael Jordan’s GOAT status and if he thought Drake was the right man to play him in a movie.

Same here! So far, Colbert and Speedy’s interviews have been the best because they know when to ask serious questions and when to ask light questions, they both didn’t sensationalize it. I’m finding myself learning more from these interviews than i do on cable news...which is saying a lot.
@omarbarhooti2100

Don’t usually comment but had to jump in here quick to commend Speedy on a MASTERFUL interview. Here’s why: 1) Active listening done right, unlike far too many out there especially those that claim have been doing it for so long, you don’t interrupt or interject unless you add value, this is huge in any daily conversation and I can tell you it literally shifts for far better or far worse the closeness of people and the respect they build for one another, so this is KEY my man; 2) Asking powerful questions that trigger meaningful discussion, all the way down to nit-picking the “all” vs “many” rappers statement (and how his response was powerful to point out it’s the reputation of a man that matters and general notions vs a single statement that is amplified by media) etc; 3) Scientific balance of questions, you’re not 100% difficult serious questions and you’re not a Comedy Central talk show either. Overall, if you keep this up and don’t ever settle on any of the above points, Speedy, you’re going far brother. Keep it up and of course I don’t need to mention how therapeutic it is listening to Obama in this era plagued by intellectual incapacity. 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

My family voted for President Obama in 2008 and in 2012. Now when I became nineteen years old, I voted for President Biden and First Lady Vice President Harris in 2020. Barack Obama is a great man who deserves his flowers now while he's alive to smell them. Speedy Morman conducted an excellent interview. This is one of the best Barack Obama interviews I have seen or heard.

Excellent interview, Speedy called Mr Obama out on his comments on rappers and got him on the defensive. Not many people have managed that! Big respect from the UK!

I love when he talks about how normal his beginnings were. For the record, Obama actually had very humble beginnings. Not a lot of people know this. He wasn't even raised with parents. His grandparents raised him, and neither one of them held more than a high-school diploma, and they were actually lower middle class, if not upper third class. Obama went through a lot, yet made so much out of himself. Such an inspiring man and leader. I thank God he became president because he made the nation so much better.
