From @Cqntemplate: Using (bind_US_standard "LSHIFT" "+walk; +variableScopeToggle" 0) without the parenthesis instead of just a bind makes it so you can still toggle zoom magnifications on the 2-4, 4-8 and 4-10x when ADSing ►►From @Julerere I wish to add to the discussion of the FOV. 1) I think you could've mentioned that having lower FOV can help to get more frames on a more limited setup if a player is willing to make the tradeoff. About damage feed back. I found out that I aim worse without hitmakers to the point that I left the game for a while because I felt like my bullets did no damage even if I was 1-clipping. So, for me, the simple X in the middle of the screen gave me back the joy of the game. Also, I usually play 1v3 so I have about 150 ms to notice the damage number and hitmarker really helps with it. My settings are: "X; Stacking"

thanks for the info hollow! i might finally try a stretched res to see how i find it. also, i use similar binds for weapon swap and superglides to what you were mentioning in the video; i use 1 for weapon 1, C for weapon 2 and i use space + B for supergliding. i used to use side buttons for my weapon swaps but later swapped them to melee and my tactical. i have since wanted to optimize even more but have become too comfortable on this configuration

Great video as always. I just re-built my PC so this was the perfectly timed video as I lost all my settings etc. About healing on specific binds, if you have a Wooting you can use modtap. This is what I've done for a while now and I really like it. I have shield cell on tap 4 and battery on hold 4, and syringe on tap 5 and med kit on hold 5 then phoenix is just 6. I do this because it makes sense to me mentally in a sense that "tap 4 = shorter action which equals short heal" and vice versa for battery. It could be argued I suppose that it's faster to have each one on it's own key but I have found this just works for me. Also with the modtap feature even just holding the key only takes 200ms and you can also adjust this timeframe in Wootility.

Love the video idea. Knew the majority of these, but still learned a new couple autoexec commands. One thing to note though: for some strange reason, whenever I play stretched res (16:10), my monitor's refresh rate gets locked at 144, even though I have a 165 Hz monitor and on 16:9 I always get the full 165 Hz. After some googling today, apparently if you enable GPU Scaling in your AMD/Nvidia settings, your monitor's refresh rate should never lower itself. So, if your monitor's hardware allows you to check the refresh rate in real-time, do make sure you're not running a lower one when playing on stretched res.

Ok I'm going to say something controversial. (Found it on reddit so don't flame me) Texture streaming budget off is zero textures and texture streaming budget on anything higher than 0gb is considered high textures and the only thing you are doing by setting it to 2 or 3gb is keeping your VRAM on the table and not using it. I've tested it myself to be honest and setting max VRAM (obviously on a card that has that much) is objectively better than limiting it to 2 or 3gb for the same reason I just mentioned (leaving VRAM on the table for no reason). If anyone doesn't believe me, set it to 2gb, go to the firing range and enter a wraith ult and check your frames. Do the same with 8gb and see if your frames are any different (I doubt the frame drop from the ability visual jitter will be any different on 2gb and 8gb). Sorry for the long ass comment but just tired of seeing so many people on the lowest setting for no reason.

fun fact for the auto sprint ...if youre on controller you dont need to turn auto sprint off because you can just walk by simply not pushing the joystick all the way to the end ....if you want to have auto sprint on you can but i find it better not having to press a button on controller every time i need to sprint

As far as I'm aware with how the FOV scaling works in modern games, having a different fov does objectively change your sensitivity. It's called "focal length sensitivity scaling" iirc, and as far as I'm aware apex (and a lot of other games) have it on and you cant turn it off. That's how they change the sensitivity when you ADS. Instead of having a set sensitivity reduction they reduce the sens depending on how zoomed it is.

Just a tip for weapon swapping, I use the alt key as "swap to next weapon" and 'c' key two pullout my hands/heirloom. That allows me to use 'v' for supergliding. Also I just put melee on 'f'.

Another note for fov - especially for controller players, is that the higher your fov, the smaller targets will be at distance even at the same distance, 110 vs 97 you can see enemies a lot more easily as they appear larger. I feel like this matters for controller were a 2-4 or 3x makes recoil controller more difficult, you can get more mileage from a 2x or even iron sights with fov between 90-100. 110 is too high unless you are solely trying to fight up close and a movement crutch

Their are some reticle colors that actually make aiming easier because it doesn't blend in the environment which means better shot placement

Okay so, something I’ve wanted to ask you since the day you posted the OG. May I look at your CRU profile? I wanna run 144 as it is more consistent as you do. But I can never get timings correct (same monitor just the 27inch). Anytime I set my apex to 144 lock I get a crazy choppy mess compared to locking 190/240. It’s bizarre.

@soar hollow this all looks fantastic however where the settings for ps5. Even since season 15 the map has got brighter and the dark areas have been darker and the biggest issue is shield brightness they have ramped this up to the point where when I shoot my gun I caunt see anything anymore it’s way too bright any ideas

I think the color reticle thing is a placebo/personal preferance, i felt no change from my preferable green reticle color.

Maybe i cam help you for guns keybinds, i have a g502 x plus and i use the Right And Left scrollwheel buttons to change gun and normal up and down for tapstrafe, if you have a mouse that have these keys try it cause for me it was game changing

Your sens FEELS higher when you zoom because you ZOOM. Imagine you are writing on paper and then get a strong magnifying glass and look through while you write... Your writing will look much more imperfect/shaky. A small bit now DOMINATES your screen and relative movement of the same objects is much greater than same objects at lower zoom.

Liked a lot of it, many I had done many I didn’t have done and changed them accordingly. However I gave the white reticle a shot for fun and my aim got worse. Take it from someone who works around guns and shooting. The human eye sees the most shades of green. In every setting even against a grass hill you can see a certain shade of green well. I would play around with it for your eyes but 0, 190, 0 is what I run.

Question, I got a laptop with a monitor of 16:10 2560x1600. For some reason Apex, on that res, looks like 16:9, it just doesn't look like stretched res. Want to know if Force Display Scaling would fix that? If I want stretched res I'm practically forced to play 4:3 which I love just want to go back to 16:10. Anything would help.

A while back you mentioned there's a command or something where you can get the X to popup with hipfire but be off during ADS. If you could please find that and test it/let us know how to activate the command that would be great!

i know this vid is 2 months old but if you ads and holster your weapon while adsing you'll walk, even with auto sprint on (you do have to hold right click though)

btw walking is not impossible while having auto sprint on all you need to do is ads before trying to run and u will be able to walk full speed

Just correcting texture streaming buget should teoreticly reduce not increse latency sins game doesnt request gpus memmory as much and core will render most of work which is way faster than memmory. It can reduce fps a bit.
