Listening to this piece of music transports me back to another era. The 1920s in Paris, on a cool fall evening, the air is crisp and the leaves are ever so slightly falling on the ground. the street lamps are slightly dimmed, so when you look ahead, all that is to be seen is the constellation of individual lights behind the backdrop of the sky. You walk across the Pont Alexandre III, with the Eiffel Tower twinkling, lighting up its city with an exuberance that would make even the most mighty weak at the knees. The Seine floats by, with steam boats gliding gracefully, their clouds of smoke seeping out of their chimneys, waltzing into the night sky. You release a breathe, finally realising that all you have is now.

Few things manage to entrance me more than Debussy does. I'm drenched in it. Give me Debussy anyday, I'll have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Aren't we lucky that He lived and had such a nice piano and such great training to be able to record, compose, and notate His thoughts for us listening in the 21st century?!!! You can love hip hop, you can love Metal music, you can love Jazz; but instantly Debussy changes the aura of your room into something close to a supernatural calm....

Supernatural calm... Best described. Thanks

Debussy manages to precisely measure the edges of a musical cloud. His work is both mathematical and ethereal.

Debussy just makes you happy. And reading everybody's comments here...is wonderful. Friendly, loving, caring; just like Debussy's music.

People that do not play such beautiful instrument, have no idea how it feels like to hear such beautiful pieces, nor do they understand what one other is trying to express...I however feel like, Debussy is an amazing composer with great talents. He has created so many wonderful pieces, even humans that dont understand music, can have emotions building up when they hear this. I dont know what we, cruel humans to the earth, did to deserve such amazing music...BE IN THE MOMENT! FEEL THE EMOTION. FEEL THE JOY,HAPPINESS,ANGER! FEEL THE MUSIC!

I am just listening to it when I am alone with a glass of wine, champagne or gin and dreaming how beautiful life can be as we have such a short time to enjoying it. Pitty, I wish to have 100 more years to listen to those masterpieces of peace and harmony!

Thank you very much for posting this wonderful collection. Listening to this whilst reading about Sartre and existentialism during my now daily "cultural hour" before my mind numbing, relentless warehouse shift.

I think that's the best performance of Clair de lune I've heard.

Perfection! Wonderful composer! I loved playing Debussy as a young person. My hands have become gnarled and fingers bent from years of ranch work, and I no longer play well., His music is wonderful and amazing. It transports me back to my younger years, when I was not afraid to make mistakes and tackle the harder pieces. Beautiful works! Timeless and gratifying!
