Yuto Horigome began skating at Tokyo's Amazing Square Murasaki Skatepark when he was seven years old. He learned to skate from his father, who is a former street skateboarder. Japan’s Yuto Horigome has won the inaugural men’s street skateboarding event at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games took place in Japan, from July 23, 2021 to August 8, 2021.

Skateboarding, the only Olympic sport you can wear whatever you want: wear earphones during competition, looks hype, wear a helmet or not, and everyone just chill at each other.

A dream come true for Yuto, I loved watching all the skateboarding events but this one was special as it was the first one, and this first ever skateboarding Gold for Yuto was so fitting in his home town Olympics! おめでとう Omedetō !

I didn't manage to catch the whole coverage, so I'm not sure if this is true for the other skateboarding items in the Olympics but... The commentators seem to have almost ZEERO substantial thing to say about the actual tricks? They're mostly giving athlete narratives, not commentating or giving the audience any analysis at all?
