Ofc it's a great argument but I rather prefer if your healthcare didn't suck. My grandfather lived on dialysis for 10 years and had dozens of other previous problems. If we had been americans, I don't think I would've been able to know him at all and I find it super sad that you guys have to say goodbye to your family members sooner, not because the illness is incurable, but just cause the medecine/hospital is too expensive. I firmly believe that we need to implement a sick leave as well as maternity & paternity leave programs for all workers in this country. I personally feel that every time worker in this country regardless of their job should be guaranteed at least 2 weeks of sick leave & 2 weeks vacation per year. In addition to guaranteed sick leave, we also need to allow both mothers & fathers who just had a baby to be guaranteed time off with pay as well, so that way businesses can ensure that their employees at all levels can come into work feeling their best & contributing their best physically and mentally everyday. Finally, I firmly believe that "Working Poor" should not be a thing! If you work full time every week of the year, you shouldn't be living at or below the poverty line in this country! Hence why I feel there should be a Universal Basic Income for every American citizen above the age of 16 based on what the poverty level is so that way no one who works full time should have to financially struggle to get by.

Here’s the issue with throwing government money at healthcare 1) the government is awful with money. Anyone involved will get rich and the product will be sub standard. 2). Healthcare is garbage in most places because of population and education. Small towns get screwed because no resources get spent on it, because there’s less reason due to population density. And the majority of doctors get paid according to where they work. City doctors get paid more, rural doctors not so much. The biggest driver of this is insurance and pharma companies. And the two largest lobbying groups in the US are pharmaceutical and insurance companies. Single payer healthcare just makes it a government insurance company, and pharma companies are arguably already government entities after the pandemic. And again, the government is absolutely atrocious with handling money. And with socialized healthcare, the financially responsible thing would be to eliminate costs everywhere you can. The elderly have a shorter time to live, and require the most healthcare on average. Financially, not treating them is the most reasonable thing to do because they will contribute less vs time they have left. And with kids born with medical conditions, they will require the most and most expensive healthcare during their lives, but are the smallest percentage broken down by age. so it makes the most sense to restrict their care or give options to remove them. I e assisted death abortions etc. The system is bad, but giving the people who made it bad even more control is an awful idea.

SOMEONE HAS TO COME UP WITH THE SOLUTION, AND ITS NOT GOING TO BE THE SAME PERSONS WHO ACCUMULATE A PAYCHECK FROM THOSE 88 BILLION DOLLARS.....BUT UNITED WE CAN MAKE CONGRESS DO ANTHING.

I've lost many friends and family members to big pharma illness, addiction mental illness poor treatment no treatment suicide overdose. in case you wonder why nobody does anything. The system will auto level out to a place where people are pushed just enough to break but not enough to revolt (through slow government degradation because of no policies to address seeping corruption over a long time), and that place is the line that most wealth /value can be extracted from the public. If you are well fed then a revolt is unlikely to occur; the french revolution happened mainly because people began to starve. when you are seriously hungry you will happily lop a guilty head from its shoulders, because otherwise you risk death anyway.
