Lots of people are killing it on Amazon because they offer something of value instead of the bottom of the barrel basic shit. If all you do is sell batteries or a garden hose, yeah you're fucked. You can't fight the gorilla with pricing but you can fight it with some creativity and making your offer stand out and justify the higher price point.

The issue with this is input size of the prompt. The current implementation has a buffer which can’t take a lot of conversion history before it starts forgetting things. You could possibly solve that with a document that summarizes important parts of the conversion periodically… but they also have some new techniques to solve this problem completely soon! Which could allow you to feed basically all the data you have on yourself to create a highly personalized model. As long as you feel comfortable sharing every dirty secret you have with openAI.

Take the opportunity your father has given you and continue to build from there. Also, there are numerous ways to implement CS and programming in civil engineering and I believe you could do it just great.

AI wont replace top level programmers but it will replace junior level. As the technology advances to a place where it can be trusted to be used by large businesses senior developers will be able to use AI to conduct devops, basic updates, and optimization rather than delegating those tasks to a few junior level programmers. In other words it will make the industry considerably more competitive, which it is already on the way to being with such a large percentage of young men majoring in CS.

Simplify. If you're a web dev, do projects in HTML/CSS/JS with no build. If you are C/Go dev, just use the language and bash scripts. Maybe find one simple graphics library and use that if needed. I've never been more excited to code than when I remove all the bulk and just focus on specific goals without all the layers. Avoid AI and Stack Overflow and just use the docs where you can. Radical simplicity is how I get my passion for coding back.

I also made one, I'm fluent in Japanese and used to teach the language for several years, and was considering uploading some of my lessons to make it teach in a more efficient manner but it's pretty easy for people to just prompt it and get good enough results so not sure how much effort I should put into it. Good idea with highlighting text as it speaks, would be cool if someone with lots of time was able to build something amazing for language learning and it highlights grammar or different things with different colors and when we click on them they display the meanings/explanations too xD Maybe in the future we can generate much more creative technology easily.

The only thing generative AI is good for is artwork. That's it. It's tendency to hallucinate facts, whihc is innate to the technology, makes it unsuitable for any use where correctness matters. For that reason it can't increase productivity in the real economy dealing with goods and services. And that in turn means it can't make you a millionaire any more than NFTs could, since you ultimately don't have anything anyone has any reason to buy. Unlike NFTs generative AI actually does something and has produced a vibrant community of people training, blending and bending models as a hobby, but that's not an environment you can expect to make a lot of money in because generative AI is the antithesis of scarcity, thus making end product's price approach zero, like the artbros constantly lament. Like this very video says: the "GPT marketplace" will be full of shovelware the week after it opens. And it's only a matter of time before some enterprising lad automates the process of generating GPT reskins, which is all these "agents" really are. So no, you're not going to become a "gpt bot millionaire" any more than you're going to become a millionaire through winning the lottery. There is no new paradigm here, just a new bubble inflated by absurdly unrealistic expectations based on the sales pitches of professional snake oil salesmen. Just like with NFTS.

Don't forget the people making bank from ai generated art. They are few and far between but some hsve made it; ai influencers, faceless UKposts channels, insta pages with millions of followers who buy their art etc. But yeah I agree with the overarching point you made ​@@clovernacknime6984

@@clovernacknime6984 You make an interesting point and I agree that generative AI being the antithesis to scarcity and bringing unit value to near zero. That doesn't make the sum of it's parts (near) valueless, just the unit. I would also argue that even with inaccuracies or hallucinations, that doesn't make it unsuitable for uses where correctness matters. Humans make mistakes all the time and processes are put in place to overcome these issues in domains where accuracy and precision are essential. Another perspective that I have that reinforces the idea that there is true value in these models, is that it's much easier to verify that an answer/solution is correct than it is to generate it (essentially that P ≠ NP, at least for now). So in a lot of knowledge work, it is already vastly easier and faster to have the AI generate the proposed solution and then for the human to verify it.
