this is the perfect example of a marketing failure. no one is calling the McLaren P1 or the Ferrari LaFerrari an "Electric Car", when they have the same hybrid technology as the E-Ray.

What I don’t understand is the hate behind that car. 2 second 0-60 and it’s still got the v8. Ferrari has had mild hybrid hypercars and Porsche with the 918 as well…oh well

Almost feels like the E-Ray is the Grand Sport for this C8 generation. It uses the Z06 shell, some wide wheels/tires, mag dampers as standard, and more aggressive "aero" but still maintains the LT2 from the stingray. Expensive, but cool I think. Will be very interesting to see the ZR1 and ZORA models in the next few years.

SVJ is closer to that Corvette weight than you think Mike. I think the E-Ray sounds amazing and is an awesome upgrade over the Stingray! This is the first AWD Corvette and this is only the beginning. Wait until the Zora and I bet everyone will lose their minds!

The weirdest thing about the E-Ray is the battery is 1.9 kWh. Which is just 2x the capacity of a high end electric BICYCLE. That e-ray battery Weighs about 50lbs including shielded casing. It's not realy an EV. Thus why it has the 6.2L LT2.

If you got 0-60 in 2 seconds with 2 people sitting in a stock E-ray, imagine what the car Lingenfelter just supercharged is going to do. Or what this car is going to do when hes done doing perfomance mods.

The hate is unjustified imo. The front electric drive is more or less a power adder, just like supercharger or turbo...Also EV and ICE cars can coexist. They each can have a purpose and proper use case. We have both and love them all!

I put the E-Ray between the Z06 and Stingray. What do you think of it in inclement weather compared to an RWD C7/8? Many probably don't think of it as a one-car garage car, but if it's decent in inclement, then it could be. I am fine with my Audi B7 S4 Cabriolet; AWD, DCT, V8, convertible, and the only convertible I've ever seen with a built-in place for snow skis. P.S. If it has a lithium battery, it's partly electric, and you can't call it an ICE. :P

Great video I really enjoy your honest opinion on the cars and trucks you review. I am not a C8 fan I have a 17 Z06 and just enjoy the feel of that car the one I am most excited for is the C8ZR1 hopefully it lives up to the hype. At some point we won't even drive any more everything will be electric and automated self driving.

Thought he was another cybertruck fanboi, but was pleasantly surprised by his more down to earth take on the cybertruck. Love the place he films, looks very wholesome. Honestly when it comes to EVs, I can see a future in racing, why? because of the constant issues tracks have with neighbours complaining about noise pollution. And instead of closing down the tracks the evs will probably save them, maybe. But an ev should cost at least half the price of an ICE, because of the lack of intricacy in an EV compared to an ICE For me as a biker I cant hear but the wind noise for the most part, and if I hear a bike it is often too late as the front wheel of the other bike is already on my inside so to speak. :)

How do you keep the hybrid battery healthy during long term storage where it never gets moved?

I’m not against electric vehicles because of the performance aspect but I don’t like the idea of a whole electric system added to a traditional V8 sports car model for just 160 more HP.

Combustion engines will be around for awhile to come. Our power grid can't keep up with AC in the summer, let alone going full EV. Also, Lingenfelter put a Maggie 2650 on an E-Ray. I'm excited for the ZR1 with turbo 5.5 AND AWD!

What scares me is just how fast the electric cars are getting. It used to be a 3 second car was $100000-$200000 at minimum. Now the Hyundai Ioniq 5 n does that at $63000. And wait till the hit the used market. Your focus needs to really be high at those accelerations numbers.

Motor is used for electric motors. Engines require gas or diesel, depending on the car.

I dunno, I actually would choose this car over them all besides the zr1. I think it sounds cool, plus awd, tons of torque and power. Also turbo or supercharge it and you pretty much have a zr1. Which they already have, dude ran 9s with a twin turbo kit on stock motor and stock ecu tune

I’m facing a serious dilemma! I am supposedly #1 on the list(s) for an allocation at my local dealership for the ERAY, ZO6 and the ZR1 where I purchased my 2022 2LT C8 RED MIST HTC. For about half a year, the Dealership has not received any allocations except for Stingrays. I thank you for your take on the ERAY. I pretty much had passed on it anyway, but your Vlog cemented my decision. After watching your Mustang take on the ZO6 in Mexico in another Vlog, I’m wondering if I should rethink any purchase of a ZO6 or even the ZR1 if I would be lucky enough to secure an allocation. Then, at age 69, my health is not great and my driving ability is not as great as it was in my younger years. Stick with the C8 Stingray and forget the others? Buy the next SUV I need to replace my current Daily Driver that has 155,000 miles on it? Any suggestions or recommendations?

I’m not really a fan of ev cars either but the new Hyundai iconic 5 N reviews are pretty amazing and make me think there may be a fun factor to ev’s after all. You should try and review one!

A guy turbocharged an E-Ray, first day at the dragstrip he ran a 9.7@153 mph. The potential for true high performance mods woll exceed the Z06. Mike is a street racer, this is more his type of car than a Z06.

E-Ray has lots of low down torque, but it’s no match for the SVJ’s top end.

A little boost from a supercharger on that eRay will go a long way to making short work of that Lambo.
