I am back with another episode after shaking off this jet lag from being n Russia for days. Here is episode 7 of the Dagestan Chronicles (The Celebration of Eid al-Fitr)
As you all know, back at UFC 223, UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov invited me to Dagestan, Russia.
Me being the trooper I am, took him up on his offer and came abroad to witness and learn more about the people of Dagestan.

In Islam, Muslims are ordered to take care of their neighbors and always be available for them when they need us. If he is presented with some novelty in his house, then he should present him a part of it if he knows that he does not have something like it, otherwise he should conceal it from him and his family if he desires it for himself.” [Mustadrak al-Wasa’il, v.2, p.79]

It’s called Din. Meaning taking the teachings of Quran and applying it to every aspect of your life. Never in my life I have seen an international celebrity legend with hell lot of money in the world, live such a grounded life like a commoner, love and respect his family, kids and old people, Eat and pray together with friends and family and show no form of Arrogance at all. The dude clearly has so much pride for this holiday and was having such a good time seeing everyone in his community, especially the children, enjoying their day. What a great person he seems to be. I’m a Native American Canadian myself and our tradition is so similar in some aspects especially with regards to the humility and respect of one another and other people/human beings. I liked Khabib very much already before but after this video it has multiplied greatly now. ✊🏽

The similarities in our cultures is uncanny but it pains me to say that my language is slowly being lost 😞 and it feels like I’m the youngest person left that actually speaks our language fluent. I’ve been told by most of my elders when they hear me talk that they are taken aback by how flawlessly I speak and are amazed that I know and use most words in everyday situations as opposed to incorporating English words to make speaking my language easier as most of my people do on our reservations. Again thanks for the reply Zephira (beautiful name btw) and the wish to stay strong. I will do so and I sincerely hope you stay just as strong as you wished for me. You are know nothing about caucasians belive me ok if you beileve in that religions it is ok but many of southern peopel from caucasus are cheaters and criminals , not these people but from that region,they have potencial but maybe it is nomad culture ,i travel and know about these mountains culture you will be decieved, it is socio code, chechen dagestans armenian georginas you will see in europe istanbul moskow many criminals from that part of region... I am also man from mountains and know about mentality people from mountains...One day you will see hospitality but if you live longer you will see other things... We call all our muslim man and woman brothers and sisters regardless of their nationality, race, skin color, sosio economic standing,etc. Even if they are non muslims, we frequently call them brothers and sisters in humanity.

Mayo first of all, young women and wives don’t get filmed because they don’t want to get filmed that’s one fact, second, did you notice the respect that every single man gave to the old women talking?? Nobody interrupted you know why?? Because women are precious and when they grow old they are not only mothers of their children but they become mothers of the whole clan!
