If you've been looking at getting into Arduino but have been intimidated by the idea of having to learn both electronics and programming at the same time, then this kit is for you. This kit makes it really easy to get started with learning how to connect and program a number of different sensors and output devices, without having to worry about breadboards, jumpers, and the smaller electronic components required to interface with the Arduino.
Disclosure - Seeed Studio provided this kit for me to try out, but I was not paid to review or promote it.
Have a look at my written review - www.the-diy-life.com/the-easi...
Here's where you can get a Grove Beginner Kit - bit.ly/3fYI3xA
If you've got any project, tutorial or review requests or suggestions, let me know in the comments section below. I'm always looking for suggestions.

It actually looks pretty neat. A lot of times you have different ideas which you reuse, but don't necessarily want to make permanent or fiddle with components each time. So you can upload the relevant sketch and get going. Neat concept.

Yeah it’s really great if you’d just like to try something out or test some code and you don’t want to have to set up a whole breadboard you do so.

This is a really good video!! I'm starting to get into the eletronics world and saw this Grove Beginner Kit but wasn't so sure about it. After watching this video I know exactly what will await me if I buy it. Thanks a lot!! :D

That's great, thanks for the feedback! It's a really good kit to start with as a beginner, especially if you're not yet confident with electronics.

I just bought one of these kits, I love it. Can anyone advise on how to cut out the individual sensors/mini-pcbs without damaging anything? Do they just twist off? Or do you need to cut our somehow? Thanks.

They're designed to "snap" out of the main board but I used a small set of side cutters to clip the bridges to get them out. I'd imagine you can use a dremel to get similar results.

@@MichaelKlements Perfect thx, they do like they snap out. but to be safe I will cut. Good point out a Dremel, I do have one. Appreciate.

Hi Michael, Is it possible to use Grove - UART WiFi V2 (ESP8285) and Grove - Mini Fan v1.1 for monitor/control temperature with an app?
@MichaelKlements
@MichaelKlements 3 роки тому
Hi Hamid, Yes you should be able to use those with this grove board to monitor and control temperature through an app.

Is the project tutorial provided easily to learn? I'm planning to use this on my capstone project.
@MichaelKlements

Yes it's really easy to learn. They give you step by step tutorials for each sensor and Arduino is very well supported online, there are loads of other libraries, tutorials and forums if you run into any issues.

How would you compare it to "SNAP Electronics Kits" ?
@MichaelKlements
@MichaelKlements 3 роки тому
Hi Robert, I think they're for slightly different targets. The Snap kits are designed more for learning electronics and the function of basic electronic components without programming. These Grove kits are designed with more of a focus on developing and programming systems or projects without requiring tinkering with electronics.

@@MichaelKlements Thank you. I plan to purchase an EEGLOO Arduino Starter Kit and go the traditional route with the use of a breadboard, but it looks like the GROVE KIT has advantages too. I have one of those small displays and would really like to start using it. Some folks made their own Google Glasses with them. - Robert

The Elegoo starter kits are also a great place to start, they allow for more electronics tinkering. Those OLED displays are pretty easy to get running as well, they usually connect through an I2C or SPI interface and there are loads of libraries available for them.

@@robertsimpson4693 Hello Robert. Little suggestion, choose according to your purpose. If you're looking to learn Arduino programming and use it for some projects, you'll find that our Grove Beginner Kit makes it all incredibly easy and save a lot of time. If you want to become a hardware engineer, learn hardware details and principle, well, we must admit, EEGLOO kit with a breadboard is better for you. By the way, do you know those folks who made their Google Classes with our grove beginner kit? We'd love to contact them and provide our help and resources. We're happy to work with educators, and if you can help we'd be happy to send you a free set. You can contact us by aidan@seeed.cc. Stay safe!
