With that electronic parking brake if I do remember from working at Acura and Honda I think those are brake pressure sensor related I'm not sure if that's still part of your ECU from the stock type r but we did have those problems. You did remove an electronic brake booster. you might want to look into that Devin

Since the Type R was in an accident before, is it possible that there’s some issue with the seat belt. Since you have to have it on for the parking brake to disengage, maybe it’s associated with that

in my 10th gen Si if you have your seat belt on and take off with the parking brake it will auto disengage and then turn back on when you park.

In my truck you have to buckle up before the parking break will disengage, maybe you have an issue with your seat belt ? I went into my settings and turned that crap off.
