I was in elementary.. 3rd grade.. my brother turned me on to them and Weezer.. I remember going to a friend's house he had dookie on cassette and would blast it in his room and every time there was a cuss word he turned it down so his parents wouldn't freak..good times!!

I was 14 in 1994 when by friend bought Dookie. I loved it so much! And one thing people don't really talk about is around 1998 they were considered uncool - I literally had people at my high school with "Green Day sucks" patches on their backpacks. I commend them for keeping their relevance.

Can I just say that green day till this day are the greatest pop band Billie Joe mike and Tre put so much love into there lyrics and music Billie Joe lyrics are some of the most powerful and poetic he rights from the heart and soul and for very personal experiences I am great full for there music becauses with out it we would not have bands like fall out boy panic! Twenty one pilots and MCR and way more bands to add to that they are so humble there music had saved so many peoples life's
