There were cars and ice houses on the lake just last weekend and a ton of snow insulating the ice. They were completely safe walking out there. There was slush at the edge of the lake because it's been really warm this week.

Coming from someone that lives only about an hour away this is so normal. We had about 6 feet of snow and it melted in like 3-4 days. Absolutely love you guys Minnesota is the best
