Nah I agree with you. The only other villain that could hold a candle to Darth Vader is maybe the Emperor himself, but then again they're in the same franchise.

@@benjaminanthony3336 No offense but the weakness of Health Ledger’s Joker is that it’s carried more on his independent portrayal of the character. Meanwhile Vader throughout his depictions is rather set in stone. So I’d still have to say Vader is overall still a better one if we factor in all Jokers.

He’s goes about it like a force of nature. Incomprehensible to our necessity of attributing purpose to, well even if you don’t think about “the meaning of Universe and existence” at least one can expect that another person of all things *must* have something, no matter if sounds lunacy, it must *have* something. Anton comes to whom he comes. And frankly, I don’t even think that he “does just because he likes it”, because I’m not certain he even does. I think that if he likes something it’s the psychological crushing often seen pre-kill; The poor schmuck he kills like cattle at the beginning just to steal his car, he does the whole taunting of having the guy do what he tells, slowly positioning the pressure cylinder tube in the guy’s forehead - Except the guy doesn’t know in the slightest how fucked he is, he is more “confusedly afraid”, and then *pop* gone in a instant. Anton did that for him and only for him. He took a minute to savor his conducting of meaninglessness, hopelessness to a universe that, seemingly, can only play those tunes. Even his “power” there feels more like a “mockery” of rule-fallowing and obedience than a typical power-trip. He does that shit to people he *doesn’t* kill - Insert the “tormenting a elderly cashier in the middle of the desert by using a coin to break his brain with existential dread over choices mattering or it’s all left to chance, and even then does it matter? Btw you got lucky I was about to blast you brains out, but do know it was just that, you lived thanks to a cointoss, that shit means nothing either way” At the end I don’t think no one ever was less invested in a murder; He have literally the demeanor of “slagging through the last hours of a shift in the most menial office job ever, just moving the paperwork till I get to clock out”.
