The Hay Barn Gets a Door! ( How to Make DIY Barn Door Hardware )

Today I'm working on adding a door to the hay barn. In the video I'll show how I created 'home built' barn door hardware, added a lock that can be operated from either side, and used some random scrap materials to make a barn door guide to keep the door plum and secure. And at the end I'll give a quick little update on how the goats rainwater harvesting watering system is working!
Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions!
-Joe

Just amazing Joe. You are definitely one of us JOMTMAN.(jack of many trades, master @ none) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤔 And got to love a person who thinks outside of the box. I wish you would come to my house & got through all of these screws, bolts, & whatever you can take away from my husband years of collecting. I'm being taken over big time & it's driving me crazy. The bad part is he can never find what he's looking for. He'll spend hours looking for something & I want my truck fixed so I'd rather just go buy the dang thing instead of waiting for his memory to come back. He sure suffers from CRS, can't remember sh*t, in his old age. Now how would he like it if I couldn't remember where I put the salt & pepper shaker & took days to find it so he could eat...... lol..... he'd feel the same way, IMO. Joe do you have another workshop your not showing us on camera with all your spare junk in? People want to know... lol.... This is a really great project. If you have ever looked at barn door hardware it can cost a ton depending on how much durability you want or need. I knew those workbench cutouts would find a home, eventually. So, you need to start looking for another drive in theater to restock your used steel stash. Thanks for sharing.
@homesteadonomics
@homesteadonomics Рік тому
Oh man, I NEED to find another one soon! I’ve got pieces left but they are all really bent so they are really just good for little 2-4’ sections. And with the layers of paint snd rust they require a LOT of prep to use. But I actually did find another drive in near Morenci AZ there is an old drive in theater that has a screen with similar construction. But you’d need a large crane and lift boom/truck to disassemble in pieces to get it on the ground

They are full during our monsoons(right now) and also usually top off in winter rains(January-ish)…. And they dwindle down in between. But for this one, the goats collection surface and tote is much lower on the property so the overflow wouldn’t work due to the elevation
