Trackmania Speedrunners have been on a mission for the past 15 years to shortcut the official campaign tracks. On the track F-9, there's been a never ending stream of new shortcut ideas & world records. Whenever the limit was thought to be reached, players only got more creative. Welcome to the world record history of F-9.
I livestream on Twitch every weekend:

There's actually a physics explanation to why airbraking works - it's done quite frequently in bmx racing; basically though braking transfers the rotational inertia from your spinning wheels into your frame, effectively making your wheel stop moving, and your frame continuing to do so. So if your wheel is attached to your frame, the vehicle has no choice but to rotate on that axis (which happens to be forward). This causes you to be able to stop pulling your nose up, and pull it down mid air. It's also for the opposite reason that acceleration midair causes the opposite rotation as braking It's a really cool real world thing that a lot of people don't realize exists irl

Trackmania has always had a special place in my heart. It was true, back then in the early 2000's there was no Epic game studio, Humble Bundle, Ubisoft... game stores where they would randomly give a game free every month. It was extremely rare to get a game completely free without a catch. As a kid that had to pay for his own games, finding a game free like trackmania was amazing, and the fact that I can play against other players online was even more awesome.

Track Mania is turning into: “Find the Uber bug”. After seeing some of the runs people have done, and the ever so crazy TAS; Track Mania has gone from arcade racer to flight sim. An airbreak is somewhat of a realistic behavior just that it works exactly the opposite of how it does in reality. Motocrossers use that in every jump. It´s the conservation of angular momentum. The rotational energy stored in the spinning wheels is transfered to the whole bike when you break. So break = tilt forward. Reving up the engine however tilts the bike in the other direction.

I think this videos are so enticing even though many of the ppl who watch them dont play the game because, first, its a pretty simple game, its just racing, anyone can understand it, but i think we love learning about this will and commitment, its sort of heartwarming to see how far we as humans can go not only at an individual level but as a community too. This is not just a world record run, its the history of thousands of attemps by a lot of ppl to push the limit, to go further.
