You sir, win on so many levels. Adding the RBF song to the mix just won you a blank check on my behalf.

I wasn't sure if there were any higher volume ones out there. The ones I use are typically for very fine metering. Thanks for the info.

Very very very cool! Did you use a blender to mix the whole thing?
@VernonGibson12 років тому
That is just awesome... Nothing more can be said... Just awesome!
@canebro111 років тому
Very nice! I wonder how hard it would be to add a shaker / mixer to this setup?

If you are not planning on commercializing, please release your build plans- at least for the v1. Would love to work on a similar project!

I coded it, and I don't call my self a programmer. The code is fairly simple, and very specific to our implementation and parts used.
@ahoyjmai11 років тому
any chance you guys have a list of materials used to build this? and how much everything costed? I'm trying to see if its feasible to build one myself and I want to see what advice you guys have for a new build.

@TheInebriatorVideos11 років тому
Hi, we didn't design it to be quick, we designed it to be flamboyant. Most cocktails take under 30 seconds, this cocktail was our showpiece, we added the blue Curacao at the end just to demonstrate the long travel at full speed and we liked the lighting affect with it (just so happens its actually a very nice cocktail as well). Also, the original purpose was for home use, check out the website for more info.

RBF. Great background music.

I haven't been to the Arduino forums but the guys on the Parallax forums are pretty decent. They support the hell out of the Propeller. I'm surprised more people don't use it. Seems that their proprietary SPIN language turns some people off but it's very powerful once you play with it for a while.
@musakrtan59663 роки тому
hello nice project, how can we measure how many liters are left in the upper tank and how can we pour it in the weight we determined into the glass

what kind of valve do you use for the bottles?
@RaduGavry4 роки тому
Hello, I just discovered this. What is the name of the black things on the top of the bottle (that is up side down in the video) that when pressed it releases the liquid?
@ryanstull861311 років тому
This. Is awesome. Icing on the cake would be attaching a tablet with a slick GUI so that you can more awesomely choose what you want, and also quickly create new drinks.
@TheInebriatorVideos11 років тому
You read my mind... yeah looking into this. Currently rewriting the console system to use a .netmf board, and still use and arduino to run the low level mechanics. Once this is sorted, should be pretty easy to replace the .netmf board with an android tablet using the Android ADK. Started using a .net board cos it seemed easier to use and SD card and process XML so I can have the cocktail definitions in xml files etc.

@adisharr11 років тому
I was thinking more for a production machine. For a personal machine, the solenoid valves are fine. As a side note, I purchased some pumps from a fish supplier for around $ 15.00 each with an attached 24VDC brush type motor. I can't remember the link but if you search for 'fish peristaltic pump' you might find it.

@JagerMikesterX11 років тому
Very slick!
@adisharr11 років тому
I fully agree. The code running this is fairly simple for just about anyone that calls themselves a programmer. Dylan might need to get out more :)
@adisharr11 років тому
Neat project - I'd investigate using low cost peristaltic pumps for each bottle and piping them all to a central location. You could use a stepper on each pump to meter the liquids to high precision. The slide, while fun to watch, is unnecessary and a source of maintenance in the long run. With the low cost of micro-controllers and stepper drives, you could easily dispense liquids from every source needed simultaneously.

what kind of this valve ?
@FlowEntertainment11 років тому
This is great :D!
@davethetech11 років тому
nice, you know how to get rid of the top part (i.e. the hole you have to use for airflow)? you replace the dispensing tip with a similar piece but build one off the same design they use for shotgunning beer bottles called a "Beer Bing" it's like the beer bong but you have two openings, one for air using a tubing connected inside going to the top of the liquid base connecting it with the air to the outside, and one will be for the dispensing. VERY awesome invention though other than that!!!
@adisharr11 років тому
I'm curious why you chose WinPLC? He certainly doesn't need an industrial automation platform for this device. I'm sure they're not going to be running it on any factory floor I've seen.
@bierhoch10113 роки тому
what about the project price ? have you a value?

O La La...Love This..Want One For Me...
@snowballandpals11 років тому
Can the person who built the Inebriator make a machine for that too?
@RichardBronosky11 років тому
WinPLC is inline with his idea of "keep the code for yourself". Arduino is about benefitting from the community and giving back to the community. My post was dripping with sarcasm. Anyone who looks at a production effort like this machine and thinks "keep the code for yourself", doesn't understand how minuscule the code effort is and will never actually produce anything but internet comments.

@dustins54876 років тому

@TheInebriatorVideos11 років тому
Yeah, as much as I think Beer by RBF suits this video, it was a mistake having music in the background. New videos will be without music. BTW, this video was also uploaded separately to facebook (the.inebriator.info), it probably isn't blocked on there.

how does the valves work
@marlowdupont42119 років тому
Same problem mate, do you know how the valves work yet?
@ahoyjmai11 років тому
Would a peristaltic pump be cheaper than a (solenoid) valve? I'm investigating how much it would cost to make this myself and googling the peristaltic pump did not show an attractive price, especially if 1 is needed per bottle.
@Boaz8332 роки тому
I found that the peristaltic pump is not very quick and takes more energy due to the air pressure needed to pump the liquid. Solenoid is more reliable but it also depends on the positioning of the bottle. Yow have to have the bottle upside down or at least a downward angle to make it work. I would recommend a mini water pump. It only takes 3 to 5 volts and is cheaper than either peristaltic or solenoid.
