Edoardo Ponti seems as a director truly gifted at bringing stories of great sentiment and meaning to the screen. Sophia Loren, his mother, continues to grace our screens after decades of being exceptional in every way. We are almost undeserving of this. I look forward to weeping my way through this film as I did during this trailer.

Sophia Loren is l'imperatrice. But why is no one saying anything about Ibrahima Gueye?! He is heartwrenching just from this trailer. This movie is going to have me in tears and both of them better get all of the awards.

I've just watched this film and was affected by it more than I thought I would be. I wasn't ready for the end although perhaps, it was cliche. But Sophia Loren's performance was stunning and it's left me playing Laura Pausini's song over and over thinking about it. Bravo, Edoardo Ponti, and to the phenomenal actor who raised him.

It would be great for this film to win at the Oscars let alone be nominated. It's been a while since an Italian film garnered this much attention or won a lot of awards.

I really wish this movie was truer to the book where Momo lived with Madame Rosa most of his life but only came to really see how much she loved him and he loved her toward the end. It made it so much more touching.

Last year, when it was announced that Sophia Loren would be returning to the big screen with her son Edoardo Ponti directing the film, I was already hooked. Now that I've seen this long a waited trailer, I'm even more excited to check this film out. Plus, I'm happy that the film is in Italian. Not that I know the language, but it's satisfying to hear the actors and actresses speak in their native tongue. Really hope the film will be as beautiful as the trailer. It's awesome to see Loren return to the screen, and what makes it even better, the film looks great. And yes, it would be awesome to see her get an Academy Award nomination for this. Would she win? Probably not. Been hearing Viola Davis, Frances Mcdormand and Vanessa Kirby being praised for their upcoming film roles. It would still be great to see Loren in that lineup as an Oscar nominee after all these years.

It made me bawl my eyes out! I literally couldn't stop crying, it was so moving and beautiful❤❤❤ It really touched me and I'll never forget it.

I watched the (remake) movie on Netflix yesterday and was moved to tears. Only ‘Heavyweight’ actors as Simone Signoret in ‘La vie devant soi ‘ (1977) can tackle a role of Mama Rosa as sublimely as both actresses, not afraid showing their age. It was raw and very honest. Great acting and directing from her son!
