@@Tonkfuu But it's not fully clear if he did this by himself or someone from lab helped him get there. I played the game quite a long time ago but if I remember well, we could find a note from lab's director to "take care of the driver", as he made some mess when he broke into the quary.

@@hipisss5836 Max was the driver that drove Lucas into the property. Lucas got out of the truck and Max went on a rage-fueled crusade which ended in him driving into the Quarry. If I'm wrong on that, someone can correct me. It's also been a bit since I've played the game. + _"take care of_ the driver" meaning _"tie up the loose end_ that is Max"

I thought it was a train at first, then, when I realized it's a boss: 1. I ran away 2. I saw his back 3. I started to call him "angry firework" and "fat bully", laughing every time 4. Every time I've heard his music I headbanged to the beat 5. Ole!

His story is the most realistic IMO. There are plenty of people like this out in the world so it is more relatable.

You know, I understand your point, but I still think this tape was the best. At first, I thought Max was mad, violent and overall a bad person. But after the bossfight and after we freed him, I felt really bad. If you remember, you drained out all the toxic waste from the mine, and at the bottom, you find his truck (or what remains of it), and in the glove box is a letter. He wrote it to his daughter and basically says that he wants to fix it all ; you know, his marriage, his issues. I never got that sad over a video game. This one was not focused on fear, but more on the story of this man.

Probably because it's a much more common situation than any of the other patients in the game. Anger management is a much more common problem than PTSD, watching a ship crash or having a scarred face. Mix that with any father's worst fear (losing their children), and you get a story that really pulls at your heartstrings.

Another detail: The last minute or so of the song are Nygaard's thoughts as his truck sinks into the flooded quarry after his rampage.

I also have anger issues, and I gotta say you summed it up perfectly. As expressed by the song, telling someone with bad anger issues to "calm down" is the LAST thing you want to do. That'll just make me more angry. I wish it didn't, I wish it was that simple to stop being angry. But it isn't

That is so true I was forced to go to a therapist for my anger issues when I was young

My therapist told me all emotions have uses -- even rage. It's okay to have it, and it's okay to feel it - but we must manage it. She told me the same thing you did, and that no one should feel any shame for feeling any emotion ever. It's normal, and it's healthy to have anger. Without it, you wouldn't fight for anything ever and just be life's punching bag. That's why I feel so bad for Max. He just wanted to stop being used as a punching bag. He got fired for something that wasn't even his fault, and he knew it....and then that company had him taken care of. If the quarry was so easily drained, then it was easily filled. Just saying....rampage or not, Max wouldn't have died if the company cared at all.
