I am a Canadian. But I am a huge fan of PB. He is intelligent, committed to his job and speaks in properly constructed sentences. He is articulate and always prepared to answer questions thoughtfully and completely. And he is such a genuine person. Like many others who have commented, what a great president he would make! Plus, I actually cried when he said his family life is not DARK! Pete for president!

I always liked him very much; so smart and articulate. If you read Bernie’s recent eye-opening book on Capitalism, Pete and Elizabeth Warren as well as the DNC threw Bernie under the bus after he won Iowa in 2016, and got behind Hilary. We have all see the consequence. I lost some respect for him on that, and I was no fan of Bernie, until I see where we are headed now.

It's so nice having competent, qualified people in positions of power who not only want to govern, but care about getting things done to better the lives of all Americans, regardless of party affiliation. We CANNOT go back to the dark days of Trump, where he'd sling an ambassadorship or advisory role to people like his son's wedding planner because he thought that person was attractive, or because that person once complimented him. Sidenote: I'm from South Bend and I'm still SO PROUD that Pete is from here and was our mayor. I've met him and chatted with him several times, and he is every bit as lovely as he seems.

Wouldn't that be wonderful! I was giving a tour on the National Mall last year - and was enthusiastically explaining to my guests how Pierre L'Enfant designed the city. This guy rode past me on a bike and turned around and smiled - he obviously knew about L'Enfant. He looked so familiar! It took me a few seconds but then I realized it was Pete B. I was thrilled.

One has to admit that Buttigieg taking this position in the Biden Whitehouse was a VERY smart decision. It's on the job training vital for a future presidential run. The knowledge he is accumulating will serve him well. The fact he holds his temper so well while others try to elicit an emotional outbursts says a lot about the man. Now he needs experience in military management matters (other then the soldier experience he has now). God bless him!

I am liberal politically, but conservative in my life. I want to get each of the 2 political parties to split into at least 2 more (total of at least 6 different parties) because as only 2 parties, neither of them seem to be interested in REAL governing (although the Democrats are better then the Republicans). I'm sending a huge high five to Pete after returning the US after living abroad for 6 years. I bought a RT ticket because it was half the price of a one way. I always cancel my return flight after arriving and getting settled. In the past, I was not refunded for that unflown portion. THIS time, I got the full cost of my return ticket refunded. You must not fly very often. One way for the flight I purchased was $1200 but the airline only charged $850 for a round trip. Are you saying you would pay $1200 if you could only pay $850? How lovely for you if you have that money to spend. There's no scam because cancelations are accepted. That's part of the contract. They provide you with a link and instructions on how and when to cancel. You seemed really upset by this so I felt I should explain it better and I hope I did. To recap, airlines charge double or triple the cost for a one way ticket than what they charge on a RT. Hope your day goes better! @@121Greenthumb

The way he spoke about his home and his husband bringing in the babies, and getting stuff ready for dinner - it actually made me tear up. How can ANYONE see anything wrong with it? Here we have two people, absolutely devoted to each other and their children. WTF is wrong with that?

Nothing and it is not for us to judge. God gives us free will these things are between you and your God. This is biblical a concept that today’s so called Christian Right fails to acknowledge

""If a man lies with a man as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them." (Lev. 20:13) Don't get me wrong, I don't care what other people do "between the sheets" as long as everything happens consensually between alive adult humans and nobody gets harmed in any shape or form. The Bible wants gay people to be executed, though....it's not just a matter between the involved persons and god, at least not according to the Bible. (And don't give me that "Oh, but in the New Testament"-excuse...in the New Testament Paul calls sex between males a hallmark of infidels.)

If you take these passages literally, take ALL of the Levitical laws literally. Have you missed church lately? Sabbath breakers are to be stoned. Stop eating shell fish. Observe the dietary codes. Sell everything you have and give it to the poor. The Bible deserves respectful interpretation, not proof texting as justification for prejudice.@@NKA23

Good man, Pete Buttigieg! It's crucial that the American people not only have an eye on the President, but also on his Cabinet and staff! How competent are they in the roles they play to keep American informed truthfully about the national and world affairs, but also how safe they keep the American people and all who travel and live here who are not Americans. We all want safety, basic needs met and more, peace and order, equality, and prosperity. There is enough for everyone!

Former Alaska resident here, and that ice bar is in Chena Hot Springs. They built an entire castle inside a building with a fully functional ice bar. Even the glass your drink comes in is actually made of ice!

His suggestion to have the speaker to his house is what I want to ask everyone that is running for office: Who from the opposing party would you have over for dinner and what would you talk about?

I'd love to see that as a question in the debates or in townhalls. It's not necessarily arguable, but the answer would reveal a lot about character. The other question I think that each candidate should have to answer is, "What do you love about America?" I'd like to think that what they love is what motivates them to run, and yet so many, starting with TFG, can only harp on what's wrong (or what they perceive to be wrong, often with gross exaggeration - see "American Carnage") and appeal to people's fears and worst qualities.

I, too, want to hear how each candidate would answer the question, "What do you love about America?" for the same reason. I even sent it in before an earlier debate when someone in the media wanted to know what people wanted asked.

Love this guy! Youthful, vibrant, intelligent, optimistic, articulate, just admire him so much. He should have the Speaker over for dinner. Many hardened hearts were softened by meeting the children and seeing family bonds.
