Ricardo Lopez is the most precise puncher in the long and storied history of Mexican boxing. One of the few men in boxing history to never lose in the ring. He was the closest thing to perfect as a boxer could possibly be.

His personality has a lot to do with how he was brought up. He was a planned and loved child. His parents were good people who brought up a good, educated, respectful and humble kid. He represents the real Mexican working class family. He's still such a nice, respectful, educated, and humble man. He's also a great motivational speaker. He was brought up with one word ''humbleness''

@Sam Manco Who is the idiot that is mentioning birthdays? I only mentioned pregnancies. Which in most cases do not require any planning at all. It is a natural occurrence. All creatures and beasts reproduce. The planning is done in order to prevent a pregnancy or kill the product/child from the pregnancy. Most of what you call planned parenthood is nothing more than a combination of birth control pills and abortion clinics.

Fun fact: The main antagonist- Ricardo Martinez from the boxing manga "Hajime No Ippo" is based on Ricardo Lopez. The author George Morikawa really studied and did a perfect job depicting and implementing certain parts of Ricardo's style through his character. Ricardo Lopez is truly incredible as you study his techniques more and you can see Morikawa's appreciation of his boxing shine throughout his art.

@marcoslaureano5562
@marcoslaureano5562 Рік тому
That dude didn't really need a promotional machine. He was a Don King fighter back in the day when Don was putting together MONSTER PPV cards with 3 or 4 championship fights on the same card. He was ALWAYS fighting on the biggest Tito Trinidad, Julio Caesar Chavez, Mike Tyson PPV events. I watched him all throughout the 90s on all the biggest cards. He was also NOT underrated back then. If you were a boxing fan then you at LEAST knew something of Finito's greatness. It was a shock to see him win a belt in another weight class and almost immediately retire and walk away happy with no regrets. He's also a hell of a motivational speaker, a VERY educated man. A thinking man's champion.
@HatianHurricane
@HatianHurricane Рік тому
@@marcoslaureano5562 He was underrated as far as the heights of popularity enjoyed by other champions who were not as complete as he was. I used to watch him on all those cards you spoke of as well. That's how I got familiar with him. You would be surprised how many, so called, boxing fans who grew up in that era, don't know about Finito. I'm also familiar with his intelligence and education. Personally, I believe that him being so well educated contributed to his extremely polished skill in the ring. He was basically flawless.
@marcoslaureano5562
@marcoslaureano5562 Рік тому
@@HatianHurricane actually he wasn't, that's what I'm telling you. There is a special belt the WBC only gives to the greatest fighters. I believe Tyson got one, Ali got one, Julio Caesar Chavez got one - and the only other one was given to guess who.....yup, Finito Lopez. They gave him his flowers while he was still fighting. Now if you mean MAINSTREAM SUCCESS in AMERICA - then yes, but he's Mexican and was a HUGE star there and still is one of their most beloved champions.

I remember the first time I saw him fight and was amazed at how fast hand speed was and elusive he was. I remember just seeing opponents head snap back and see lopez jab returning. I then looked at past fights and was in awe and couldn't understand why there wasn't more media about how good this guy actually was. I know not being in one of the heavier weight classes contributed to his lack of notoriety but greatness shines through whether highlighted or not. I think D. Johnson aka Mighty mouse is very similar in that in his division no one really even challenged them and many say he is in conversation of GOAT. I think Lopez should be in conversation, doesn't mean he is GOAT, but the techinical side, physical speed, and true dedication and professional attitude that he showed over a lengthy amount of time truly showed he was one the greatest fighters ever.
