My god, in the span of two or three weeks I've become obsessed with this show. I'm 40, and when I was growing up I was not allowed to play D&D, as it was supposedly "the gateway to Satan," but I always wanted to play. So I only ever played a couple of sessions of the old West End Star Wars D6 RPG, but otherwise missed out on all of this. Then life happened and kids and family and RPGs were the furthest thing from my mind. So now my kids are teenagers, and one of the greatest gifts is that I get to play D&D with them, at their invitation! They WANT me to play with them. My oldest son DMs, and I just created my first-ever D&D character. I can't wait for my first game with them this week. So thank you to the Critical Role team for showing me, a late bloomer, how amazing RPGs can be.

I love how people in cloaks (pretty common clothes in Dnd) hanging around the city in the middle of the night is suspicious, but people on a boat in the middle of a lake, so dark out you need lamplight to see, hauling stuff out of the boat onto an island in the direction a possible enemy was headed are fishermen

Seeing liam be this scared and anxious guy who freezes in a “mild battle” here, vs orym who just goes ham on bad guys and goads them… seeing laura be all silly and playful and funny here, vs her serious and almost depressed character in c3… etc. its just awesome! Such fabulous actors, all of them!
