"What a film director really directs is the audience’s attention"
- Alexander Mackendrick
Soundtracks used in video:
- Audiomachine - I Will Find You
- Tracey Chattaway - Nightsky
THIS VIDEO IS PURELY FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES.
I do not own any of the movies or the soundtracks displayed in this video .
NO COPYRIGHT INTENDED.
If you comment before Reading the description, you will be ignored.
Many films were displayed in part 1, and many of films I couldn't cram into a 4 minute video, I hopefully plan to make a part 3 in the future. So don't comment something foolish like "You're missing "X Scene" in this video.
I did Wish to have more scenes from films by Kubrick, Kurosawa, Tarkovsky, Wells, Bergman etc... but couldn't seem to find decent quality downloads for many of their films Which is Why Ill make a short list of movies I intended to place but couldn't make the cut.
If you have any recommendations for movie, scenes, clips you are more then welcome to leave a comment, and Ill Add it to the list
With that being said there are clearly more qualified scenes out there in film but these are More of a favorite list ( Which wouldn't of have made a compelling title), While some are simply Iconic.
Some examples are films like.
- Ran (1985)
- Dreams (1990)
- 2001: A Space Odyssey
- Stalker (1979)
- Mirror (1975)
- Doctor Zhivago (1985)

- Seven Samurai (1954)
- In the Mood for Love (2000)

3:10 it's 1958, and the shot is THAT good. how is the colour even so close to real life?
@truefilm6991
@truefilm6991 2 роки тому
Excellent question. It was shot on 1950s Eastman 25T negative , but here it looks similar to Kodachrome reversal, which was at the time used for 16mm and 8mm film only. Well first off, Vertigo was shot on VistaVision (35mm 8-perf horizontal), then you are obviously looking at the 1990s restored version, which was done with utmost care. Not to forget that the cinematography and processing were top notch at the time. As far as I know, back in the 1950s color film stocks were very slow, making sure they were sharp and fine grain. The single strip color film stocks couldn't match the gorgeous colors of the earlier, very cumbersome and expensive Technicolor three strip process, but manufacturers tried hard at the time. Later on, much faster stocks were used and a more naturalistic lighting was possible. That's why most late 1960s through 1970s movies look very grainy with muddy brownish colors. The colors became better by the late 1970s and IMHO were the very best during the 1990s with Eastman EXR color negative. After that film stocks were optimized for digital scanning (Kodak Vision 1, 2 and 3). So there was some sort of a "sweet spot" during the late 1950s. All that according to my humble knowledge.

I love the shots that are simple, they're beautiful and can express many feelings or one specific feeling powerfuly without having the need of using a lot of elements so they don't force You to be stimulated with many objects and You can concentrate in one specific point without feeling like You miss something.

It wasn't until I was in my late 20s that I realized that in a well-constructed movie, every scene could be so beautiful that the still image could be framed and hung on a wall. It amazes me how talented people are.
