More and more people began to wear simple, comfortable clothes. In recent years, a business suit and tie has raised more eyebrows than a hoodie or sweatshirt.
A sweatshirt is a fashionable item of clothing that is worn not only with sports trousers, but also with jeans, skirts and dresses. It was for the loose fit and protection from the cold that both adults and children fell in love with these clothes. Thanks to the light and warm material, you feel free, relaxed and comfortable in it. Most often this is a brushed footer, but there are other similar fabrics.
An oversized sweatshirt will fit several sizes. Anyone can sew it if you choose a simple pattern. And today I will show one such option.
According to this pattern, the sweatshirt is cut from almost one piece of fabric, unless you combine it, like mine. The sleeve, the shelves - everything is already on one canvas. I took two colors, which I immediately cut out and sewed together.
1) First you need to fold the shoulder seams and side panels towards the front, then stitch along the front chest line and you can try it on, the rest is finishing.
2) I cut out pockets and stitched them on the front shelves.
3) The next stage is the hood, it is lined with thin knitwear.
4) For the ties, instead of eyelets, I made small holes on a sewing machine.
5) I sewed the hood to the sweatshirt. All seams were done using an overlocker.
6) Lightning. To prevent the fabric from gathering into waves when sewing in, strips of dublerin were smoothed along the edges.
7) I immediately cut out the cuff for the bottom part and stitched it. After that I sewed in a zipper. But first you need to make marks on the zipper at the junctions of different fabrics and seams.
8) At the top of the neckline I inserted small triangular pieces of knitwear so that the seams and zipper were not visible.
9) I cut out rectangles for the cuffs on the sleeves, measuring the size according to my hand.
10) Made a cord from knitwear.
11) The sweatshirt turned out to be long, warm, and perfectly replaces a demi-season coat or jacket.
If you think that sweatshirts are for young people, then you are wrong. Older people are still young people, they are just older.
