I think the video might be about how The Neighbourhood once used to be the gold guy, everyone loved them, and with time, despite staying the same style as Sweater Weather, they stopped being recognized that much and they have to learn to accept the second (silver) place? The whole Chip Chrome character would actually mean being okay with not being in the spotlight (as Jesse was his WHOLE life), and the line in Devil's Advocate where he's saying that he's "staying together for the kids" would mean that they no longer do it for recognition, but for us, the fans? I might be overanalysing, but seems quite legit to me.
