I used heroin from 2007 to 2010 I gave up heroin in 2010 and started to drink Methadone to give up heroin for two years. Finally I gave up drinking Methadone and also gave up smoking too. Now for almost ten years, I am clean from all drugs. Sometimes in the evening, I just drink beer. Thank God for giving me strenght to pass those hard years, my lovely wife and my family. I am 31 years old now and have two lovely daughters who are 7 and 3 now. Love you all.

I knew this song was gonna hit me when I first heard it earlier this year, but after watching this, it hit home run. I was an opioid addict after being medically discharged from the military for 2 years. I was so bad I would crush oxys, norcos into dust and smoke them. It almost killed me but I have been clean since 2012 and I reached my 9 years clean last week. Thank you for this The Offspring. Y'all have been my favorite punk band for 20+ years now and we need to keep spreading this message in hopes of saving these kids

Amazing, congratulations! Whilst not the same level as Opioids I used benzodiazepines to treat my sleeping problems, and they worked fantastic, then over Christmas this year I went cold turkey after taking them every day for about 5 months, worst 2 weeks of my life, I had like 1 hour sleep a day MAXIMUM, hot and cold sweats, constant throwing up and diarrhea pains and aches all over, Honestly nearly just got some more to stop it. From how bad MY experience was, I can't imagine being hooked on something stronger and trying to get off. Tried LSD but never Opioids. Though, I have toyed with the Idea of smoking Heroin a few times.

Never has a song hit me as personally as this one. I skirted addiction but escaped. I have lost about 30 people since I moved from the midwest to the PNW. All due to it. Including my best friend, who left her baby girl behind. Thank you Offspring. I loved you all since Smash and this one just makes me realize how amazing you still are.

Good for you!! The Midwest is where I first saw the major impacts of opioids. I learned to lose my judgment and work towards ways to help these people as it's a major struggle that major pharma has fueled for decades.

Washington is terrible with heroin and opioids, especially western washington, olympia up to everett. Even in the nice neighborhood I was in you had to be careful walking dogs because there were almost always needles on the ground.

I moved from the PNW to the Midwest in the last 4 years. Honestly I had no idea how bad this is, it feels like a regional thing. but once you gain that perspective, like all things, you realize a new truth. I'm a person whos always had empathy and a love of my fellow humans no matter who are, but until your in the actual environment, its hard to grasp. In the days of covid, the news outlets drone on and on about the deaths from it but never say a fucking thing about the drug companies and a corrupt FDA that allowed this to come to this point. Opioids have killed more people than covid ever will, and will continue to do. This is the state of our nation now, money rules all. I'm sorry for your losses and glad you mad it out, who ever you are.

I guess what they say is true, you dont know what you've got, until you say good bye. I remember my teenage years, back in high school, when i was listening to Americana, over and over again, playing with my PS, and hanging out with friends. I wish someone would have told me, that i was living the best days of my life back then, but sadly i didnt realize up until they were already gone. Those were days filled with good music and fun, definitely a great time to be alive. Sometimes i feel sad cause those days are gone, but everytime i listen to your music, i can still remember that feeling, even if just for a moment, i feel, happy and free and careless. I still get that same feeling with this song, its just like magic. So i wanna thank you for all of your music, and all of these years. Just keep it coming, and please don't ever stop rockin', cause your music is truly awesome!.

I truly believed I was destined to live out the rest of my life as a heroin addict until I died as a result of my addiction - but today, with over 4 years clean from heroin, I can honestly say that it DOES get better. A life worth living IS ENTIRELY POSSIBLE, and you don't have to do it alone. As long as you're still breathing and your heart is still beating, there is hope.

My favorite song on the album. I love the whole album, but this one means so much to me and the shit I’ve seen/done myself.. and when I watch the video, it fucking puts me in tears man.. no shit. Americana was the first cd I ever bought ever, in 4th grade, and I’ve loved them since I started listening and when they put the new album out, I didn’t know what to expect, but the whole thing is so damn good and I’m so grateful they’re still as awesome as they were in the 90s when I first started listening to them
