So, me and my buddies play Tabletop (Pathfinder specifically) and we're currently doing a Dragon's Dogma inspired campaign, and my buddy is playing essentially Guts (minus some of the more fucked up details) and in DD, your heart is stolen by a dragon. Well, theres 5 dragons in my campaign, and Gut's was stolen by the red dragon, which makes him randomly rage out of his control. They're in a place called Bitterblack Isle, and they just fought this boss called The Gazer (which is basically a gigantic Beholder) and after they killed it, Guts was being affected by the environment they were in, the stress of the battle, and he was absolutely caked in the black blood of the Gazer and went into a horrifying rage. When he looked at the party, I started playing this music. Everyone just went quiet, and my buddy just smiled. It was perfect

This reminds me of the times I had lucid nightmares and could feel what the enemies were doing to me. Upon one such particular nightmare, I was captured by four demons and being made to fight sharks. I busted out of the tank and killed the four demons, one by one with my bare hands. I punched the first to death. I gouged out another's eyes before snapping their neck. The third was ripped limb from limb. And the fourth was strangled to death as I roared savagely in its face and watched it stop moving. Then I ripped a hole through the wall of the underground place and broke free, drifting back into the black void of sleep. Ever since then, I've fought the demons and dark beings that plagued my slumber, dying in battle or killing them with ease. That was the night I learned that I am a demon slayer. Then one day, the nightmares stopped. I haven't had them since. Finally, after 15 years of hellish nights and jarring nightmares... I had slain them all.
