I first felt loved at the age of 30, when I adopted two stray dogs. No human ever gave me what those two beautiful creatures did. Those dogs showed me that I was lovable and capable of loving in return. Those 2 dogs taught me about true love and it changed me into a better, happier human being. The best gift ever!

Yes love is important. When my brother passed away, he ask me to take care of his teenage sons. I did my best as a single parent. Now they are in their late twenties. The other day the youngest said to me “if you weren’t for you I don’t know where we would be. Yes love conquers and nails bonding.

I so loved the last piece with the hair cut. I just got so much out of it, it's very difficult to explain. We can all do more. I'm at minimum going to at least say hi more often and good evening too. And as always thank you and please too. Then someday I just might be able to do more. For me today it's a start at least. We must all have a beginning to have an end right. I think this one so far has been the one that got me more motivated. And so I bid you a very good night.

I am overwhelmed and can't find the proper words to thank you. The Romanian orphanages are famous, but still, it is never enough to make justice for that horror. The decree was active since 1966, I was born in 1967. We are 4 children, had a family, though, a dysfunctional one but a family with grandparents, uncles, aunties, cousins... Those generations were mostly unwanted children, hated even, and we grew during some difficult years. We are grown-ups now but heavily traumatised, as the generations that came afterwards. Very few of us are aware and willing to admit that we carry a heavy burden and keep transferring it to those who are to come. This is what a child suffering means, the whole world is suffering! Thank you so much for this amazing documentary, with immense gratitude! ❤️

@karina I feel the same way. Right now, especially in America, there are those who seem to want to divide us, to make us constantly afraid, and to limit our acceptance of each other and our freedoms. We have to fight back against this angry, hateful presence and programs like this definitely are needed more than ever to inspire us to stay strong and kind and try to treat each other the way we would love to be treated. Watching this, I just came to a stunning realization about the lives of my siblings and myself. We grew up with a very abusive mother. She was abusive mentally, physically, emotionally and in every way imaginable. After ever beating or any other type of abuse, we had to kiss her on the lips and tell her we loved her. I have been married three times and each time, my exes were abusive on various levels. I would see red flags but to me, they were not red flags then. I saw it as being good as it wasn't nearly as abusive as the mother. I had no doubt that I was happy. I suddenly realized that we were taught that severe abuse was supposed to look like love. Holy shamoley. I am 81 and watching this finally made me realize what was going on. Myself and my two other sisters married into abusive relationships, one never married and my brother was the abuser; not physically but emotionally. What a lot of damage the mother did and although we knew on some level that she hated us, we also saw what we wrongly called love.

I soothed myself within a crowded institution with a friend because my anxiety was on edge in a pool of others and no place to hide in a safe haven and Eve in a cell alone I only felt mostly sad and sometimes happy until I tried to change mindset and even then I felt only reassurance from others and the little things others went out of their way to support me made a greater impact than a tsunami

I love this documentary, Morgan Freeman. (I have rocked too as an adopted child.) Aww, I love | The Story of Us! Thank you. The orphanage footage is sad! It makes me cry. My adopted mom, Adell, said I never cried much at all she said I may have learned not to cry and be a good child as an adopted child. I learned to love through my adopted dad, brother, and mom. My dad really became my mom because my mom's mom passed away suddenly and she went into mourning and grief. He loved me a lot. I'm so grateful. I was adopted at two months old. I'm so glad to hear about your investigation into LOVE. Love is the greatest act, and all there is... I'm grateful I was loved so much by my adopted family. 《BTW, I was a summer of Love Child 🌼 🌼 🌼》
