Old R3 was funny. Spawn -> flank -> kill all 5 of the enemy flankers in 0.2 seconds -> listen to everyone call you trash in [all] chat -> kill a few tanks via side shots -> die due to their entire team targeting you

I remember when this thing was like 3.7-4.0 when i started playing, it made my life in the pz4s and early shermans hell. It was either this or the wirbelwind that would just shred everything i threw at it . The R3s were everywhere back then because of the memes and everyone wanted the centuaro and ariete because they had the highest pen darts back then

I still don't understand why they had to make the M18 a light tank. It is a tank destroyer and was claasified as such by the US army. Now don't get me started on the ELC BIS...

I say just keep the R3 as a lower tier AA and add the Lamborghini LM002 with the 25mm as a higher tier variant possibly at 8.0 instead

Actually you can kill russian medium tanks with this thing, hell, could probably kill an mbt, nearly every Russian tank has a very thing floor that you can shoot between the road wheels

Completely agree, I don't really like this kind of vehicle as a SPAA at WW2 tiers much. There are some WW2 SPAA stuff that can still be added at very low tiers but I'm fine with gaps if there truly isn't much they can add without timewarping some armored car about 40 years in the past. Around the 7.0-8.0, they can also add a VCC-1 with 20mm or 25mm autocannons, like one example Nicho suggested actually had two guns which I feel like could push it into that BR range. Gaijin certainly has a lot options, especially the one's Nicho pointed out.

Gaijin should never have added the R3. It broke the meta for years and was horrible to fight against, especially in a 2.3 in a full uptier. The ultimate piss take, low skill, early flank/revenge vehicle. You’ll still see swarms of these in every event, when the old sweats return to grind the rewards. There are few things more immersion breaking than seeing hoards of these mouse droids zooming across the tiny maps and hearing their auto cannons blaze away. I’d rather they just correct their mistake and remove this fucking thing entirely.

i just feel like this is more people complaining about a tank that is more annoying than actualy good, the thing rn is mid at best, it fights super fast probs and early jets and most of the tanks you face have decent armour that can only be killed exactly point blank or have 50. cals or both, its absaloutly fine at its br and no amount of people whining is gona convince me otherwise

Which is why it could be higher and receive a few buffs. The Leo 40/70 already full fills the AA role and isn’t over capable at cracking tanks.

Pls no, imo the R3 is incredibly over tiered as it is. It should be moved down to 5.3 at the highest and kept as is. Moving the R3 up would mean there is no good SPAA from 2.7-7.0 (the M42 has too little ammo and is too immobile for the Italian tech tree).

It is already higher than the leo 4070 which is basically the same as the AMX 13 DCA. Arguably more fair than the 20mm

@@SteelxWolf the Leo 40/70 is near useless as an SPAA, though. You might get one or two planes shot down in a dozen matches, but nothing more than that. The R3 is the mainly low-mid tier SPAA and should stay that way, otherwise the tech tree would be pretty screwed.

@@Iden_in_the_Rain what? Its about as point and click as you can get with spaa at that br. Super high velocity, great damage, quick firing, etc. It's amazing.

@@Iden_in_the_Rain funny cause since people play the leo aa as a tank destroyer gaijin noticed and they said its gonna go up to 7.0-7.7 strange almost like gaijin is moving things like the r3 and leo aa up because people play them the way they do lol im all for moving the r3 and leo aa up in br and if you're not you are one of those r3 and leo aa users who has NEVER used them for anti air lol

@@Iden_in_the_Rain I used to play the AMX-13 DCA at 5.7 before they added the new SPAAS. the 40mm bofors is more than adequate to shoot down planes AND kill tanks if you know what you're doing The Leo 40/70 is not useless, it should in fact be moved up.
