haha, you make it sound like the younger generation are the "trend setters". based on the other comments, this simply is not the case. what about YT, einstein ? plenty of teens and such on here. the real "trend setters" are the "frontier" world traveling crowd, the ones that settled Bali, Ko phi phi (aka "the beach" leonardo decaprio), ibiza, ko samet [with the chinese] et. al. way before they became so mainstream, so popular that the corporations took notice and began to commercialize it with big fancy hotels, restaurants, etc.

The creator of tiktok actually started off creating an education app but it saw little demand, so he pivoted to an entertainment app.... hence tiktok was born :)

It’s actually very diverse! I watch cooking videos from homecooks, doctors share interesting facts about the body and sometimes help educate on certain topics, there’s so many cute heartwarming videos, and there was lot of videos on blm the past 2 weeks.

For the longest time I refused to look at tic tok I thought it was for kids doing dancing or voiceover videos...but the first day I checked it out I could not stop laughing at some of the people on there! And I never see kids dancing. The app does a pretty good job of showing me stuff that is relevant to me instead of being aweful like the youtube home page.

If Tiktok decides to include streaming services then it loses its USP! Tiktok should remain the way it is, that's why it's so popular and it offers a unique proposition. Tiktok is in it's own type of category and leading the way. Instagram and UKposts have tried to include features to match Tiktok, however Tiktok will always win because of it's unique features and the category the app is enlisted in. Don't change. Others major players such as UKposts, Netflix, Amazon Prime will simply purchase the app in order to fend of any competition threats. Tiktok will then lose it's USP and the app will eventually disappear!

My job has asked me never to install on any of my personal devices not just for my own safety but in case the app decides to wirelessly jump and infiltrate nearby devices they interact with. We had one high caliber customer came in and warned us their electronic security department uncovered how the program can export and self unpack malware on nearby devices. It's that issue that makes it dangerous. That was 2016

I downloaded it for more than three times, first time I spent more than 1 hour after the download, I immediately realized it’s kind an addiction, and this company read people’s mind very well, it specially made things just for the weakness of humanity. Then next times I tried to spend lesser time on it, for the latest time of downloading I only use it for checking some information. Does it mean I quit drugs successfully 😂

Tiktok is literally the worst thing on the AppStore. I have never ever downloaded the app and I want to keep it that way. I do not want TikTok to show up on my account as something I've downloaded because if that happens, I will need to create a new account to get rid of it. People keep saying Gen z kids are stupid and love TikTok, but I am a gen Z kid and I would literally unplug any TikTok thot's life support to keep my phone at 100% while doing nothing on it.

they were accused of racism and keeping disabled people other people's videos from being seen. So I'm sure they adjusted the algorithm. Basically reverse racism which is ok for some reason.

@@johnames6430 I'm not white but, lmao, from a programmer's standpoint, that is literally putting an artificial effect on an algorithm that is supposed to be autonomous. I don't know 100% how TikTok's algorithm is written but as a baseline, I'm sure it considers popularity, demographic, and other user-defined parameters. If TikTok wrote some code that lowers the rate of white people showing up in your timeline, then yes that is literally racism _against_ white people lmao.
