Andrew fantastic job on this just what lovers of this movie have been looking for the complete soundtrack. 5 stars excellent work.

This was compiled by another UKpostsr. I merely split their video into seperate songs. While adding "Intro" by myself, and someone's beautiful cover of "Ascent Music" near the end of the soundtrack.

@@dudering Nice work nevertheless, and much appreciated! It highlights the irony (considering how integral the music is to the movie, and how iconic it has become) of the fact that no soundtrack has ever been released. It seems as if that other UKpostsr's work has since been deleted, no? By the way, you've numbered this as Track 8, and there seems to be no Track 7. Has there been a copyright issue or something? Very curious as to what that track was.

There was a copyright issue for sure. The track is Tchaikovsky's Andante Cantabile from String Quartet No. 1, Op. 11, performed by Mischa Maisky: Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Thank you 🙂

Andrew Jackson Thank you for that information (and again for the uploads!)

Does anybody know which scene the Tchaikovsky was used in?

This reminds me of Silent Hill 1's soundtrack a lot. Especially that weird distorted choir thing in the back at 1:41

That would make an atmospheric video I think, inserting Silent Hill music into Picnic at Hanging Rock scenes.

Im not instrumentally inclined. Does anyone happen to know what sort of instrument makes a noise like those zappy sort of sounds.

Eerie :O Otherworldly 👽 I like this track! When I last caught this film on telly as a kid in the 1970s, I wrote it off as a boring film about a bunch of boring girls moving excruciatingly slowly around some rock, and hated director Peter Weird's vague dreamy storytelling style. I must've gotten more into wEiRdNeSs over the years. Since then I've been there. Not as big of a rock formation as I expected and disappointingly it hangs upward rather than downward, but for sure it had a quality that spooked ya- doubtless assisted by the fact that day I had it to myself...

The movie is a slow burner like many movies from its time and I find the music and sound really create the eerie atmosphere. Without it the film wouldn't be the same. The rock itself is amazing but the otherworldly element about it is really all movie magic. I've been there too about 9 years ago, really nice Victorian countryside.

I love slow films if they're actually getting somewhere. The film pulled me in from the beginning and cast its spell on me. I was really freaked out the first time I saw it.
