EA watering down the game to make it more “kid friendly” is part of many reasons why the series got ruined. it’s just so obvious to any longtime player that EA knows nowadays theres a huge market of easily impressed children with their parents money and they would rather cater to that because it takes less energy/effort than continuing to make games for teen+up audiences that have more realistic situations and content

I have good news for yout then: The Sims 2 still runs on modern systems, even windows 11.

@@CosimaNonymouse the only issue I've had with trying to play it is, where the hell do I get it? The only things I find are the listings on eBay but heard they give you access to an account with Sims 2 and then kick you out and change the password after a few weeks... I'm more than fine with buying a CD player if needed but also heard that has it's own fair share of issues....

@@Lulu-qp6oh Oh, um, well, they're not being sold anymore. I got the sims 2 when they were free, shortly before they were taken off off the shelves and that was in 2017, I think. Possibly even longer ago. As far as issues go, not really. You just need to manually add your gpu to the list and do the same with screen resolutions but other than that, no issues running the game. Launching it takes a really long time but I guess that also depends on how much cc is installed.

Only downside I remember was that the needs bars decreased way too quickly.

@@Lulu-qp6oh you can message EA support and request to have someone give you the game. If they say that it’s ended, try again, and eventually you should get someone who will put the game on your account. That’s how I got it, after all, and this was after they stopped offering it for free

@Ian Jonas I am a little baby boy who played Sims 1 when it came out, but I don't think the billion dollar company of EA would have too hard of a time animating cabinets and putting effort into their games if they wanted to.

I miss that little thing where you have to got to the store to refill your fridge, or order it per phone (and not buy specific ingredients). I wish the Sims 3 had that.

Hmm, it sounds like you might be thinking of the juicer that came with sims 2 seasons. You could put in different combos of produce (or even one of those old boots sims catch while fishing) and the juice would turn out good or bad

Sims 3 had it too with the "wine"/juice maker where the ingredients inserted changed the name and the quality of the product.
