Yes it is that serious! we spend too much money! I have to pay $20 just to get actions that should already be included! The way I look at it, I'd rather stuff like this and Vampires that are kinda more obscure packs be limited to game packs, that way the really in depth expansion packs can be things that I know for a fact I'll use all the time. Get To Work is the only expansion that's a little unnecessary but it's still cool to have the extra career options that I can actually play.

Man sims 4 packs aren't doing it for me. sims 3 had way better ones even Sims 2!

And? Castaway had them too. The loading screens are 1 minute at most and the areas without loading screens are bigger than the likes of Sims 1 and 2 (Outdoor Retreat's camping ground was pretty big without a loading screen). I much prefer loading screens as it means I can actually play the game, by the time I had all the expansions for 3 it was unplayable - I had to uninstall one to play another. Plus the world was so quiet, at least the worlds in Sims 4 are more populated.

If EA does not add an open world, it's possible that the seasons will come out in the game pack, why? in the sims 4 we have a map of the world so it would be necessary to make a new graphic for all cities. therefore, the only solution is to create a snow camp.

we had seasons in sims 2 and that had no open world and was still pretty good, I am glad the open world is gone, it was so empty (because all of the sims continued their working lives) whereas in 4 at least you get more people on the lots and the loading screens are short and the game is nowhere near as laggy.

I'm also super excited to see how they pull this off without open world. There's probably one common area that's the size of a park, but I don't think the jungle section would be any larger than a neighborhood in Brindleton Bay, when it really needs to be as large as TS3's world to foster any actual sense of exploration. People will just figure out where everything spawns, and go around to it periodically. I don't know if the temples would be on the map or found in the jungle neighborhood, but I don't think there's gonna be more than two or three. Either way, I don't really care that much, as I won't be purchasing this.

With an unpopular destination choice. It's so unpopular they let poseur archeologists carelessly demolish sites during excavation in reality. Hardly anyone cares about such archeology.

louis fill hey, I'm not saying I don't think they are cool ideas I'm just saying people can make bigger 'packs' and mods in less time then they can (for free) I love the sims but I just feel like maybe the packs are just a waste of money and I feel like they could at least give us something that actually changes the game instead of some build/buy and CAS items (with maybe one new ability). Which is why I don't really own any sims 4 packs other then a few that actually change the game. I mean with all the packs and stuff that's like 600 dollars.

For the same reason sims 3's gimmick was 'open world' and 'story progression' neither of them can live up to the sims 2 in gameplay. Sims 2 didn't need a gimmick and it was stable.

There was the same outcry when the sims 3 came out though, that's what gets me. People seem to forget, people were mad at the sims 3 because base game didn't come with pianos or hot tubs, there were no memories or cinematics. So many were saying the exact same thing about sims 3; the store is milking us, there are no aliens, it feels stripped, pudding faces and rabbit holes were limiting etc. People seem to go from one sims game, expecting exactly the same experience from the next and getting mad.

Luna Knight that is so true I remember people complaining about that especially the rabbit holes and now you can't even watch the building they work in lol just the street in front of your lot. I was good with the Sims 3 just wish the game ran well even on a good build the game runs choppy. I can't lie though Sims 4 is slacking compared to 2 and 3.

When I played the sims 3 I played with a family for many generations and now I can't get past the childhood of the first children because I'm already bored at that point. Hopefully The Sims 5 will be much better :)

It's a smaller team having to develop more complex AI and graphics, of course it's gonna take longer to bring expansions out, I agree EA is money hungry, all one has to do is look at Battlefront II for that, but take it out on the company, not the game devs

Look at the base game it took them a long time to add ghosts and then even longer time to have toddlers and that should have been in the base game in the first place.. But then they decided to do game packs since they really want to milk there fans dry.. Which I don't respect, I wish that they would go back to giving more expansion packs over pointless game packs b/c at least with expansion packs I'm paying for more content and better game play with more opinions then paying more for less content with these game packs.. it's not that, it's that they are just milking ts4 for everything they can get. they aren't making good content, just stuff packs and game packs so they can get $20 out of us every other month. i agree that every game has its flaws. sims 3's BIGGEST flaw ever was how awful it was programmed, and it's still hard to run on my high end PC. but sims 3 was probably the best sims game, content wise. the expansions were actually good and added new gameplay. but the thing is they barely made progress on ts4, and it's not even close to being considered "complete"

mada The official Sims forums had speculation on when Sims 5 will be released. We all assumed it won't even be spoken of until 2020-2021, since we know that right now, trying to finish the game at this state will have it completely feeling incomplete and we all know EA won't pump out 2-3 major expansion packs and 20 random game packs in less than a year for it to be released in 2019. (What I think) The Sims 4 has more hate because it's newer, most likely with a larger following than before with old and young fans (more following probably means more expectations and skepticism), and we're comparing it to an older, finished game (I said there's nothing wrong with this, because we expect the same plus MORE with a new installment of Sims) I remember the Sims 3 still having a lot of hate XD. Lots of people shitted on it and held the Sims 2 over it dearly. When ts4 came out, with nearly not as many features, it made us realize how much we liked a full-featured Sims 3 and the Sims 3 became the new level of greatness, holding it over 4. It's almost a pattern now. :/ as an older fan, I won't get angry about how many years I takes. Rather, it's about the content I get. Ts4 is a smooth running game with great potential for amazing content, but most of it has been "meh' so far.

Cavma Exactly. I wanted to type more on this but assumed my 4am rant was too long XD As I said, the Sims 3 expansions and new content were AMAZING. After that, it's what I expected out of all expandion packs in the Sims Series after it. And as I said, the fact that having most of these expansions barely made the game playable without lotsa modding made it a painkill. Every expansion, the forums lit up with "how do I fix X lag" and "Omg what's the point of buying it if I can't even play it!?". I don't really have a favorite (OK, I lied, TS3 is slightly above all for ME haha), but if EA actually worked on fixing it's own damn programming with the Sims 3, it WOULD be a far more superior game. For me, the Idea of the Sims 3 and all it's content being the best seems right, but the fact that its barely bootable for most when they DO have it all just... urg. (Even then, EA was called lazy content grabbers with the Sims just for this reason. People even said they'd be OK if they delayed an expansion by a month or two if they would just fix their own code so the game won't lag. They didn't. That says a lot). With TS4, it's a smooth running game with great potential to have great content. I felt that if they took away open world, they'd make it up with something just as great~!... But like you said, Sims 4 often DOES feel like a cash grab. They're too in-detail with game packs and expansions. Why "Jungle Adventure"? That's too specific; they could've gave us a broader "Vacation Adventure" instead with more places to go, but still small enough for it to be a game pack. Why all the stuff packs? It feels like ts3 store. Why all the odd expansions that focus way too much on one certain thing instead of one whole idea. Cats & Dogs for example. Why focus on just those two when you can do ALL of the pets? Vampires? Why focus on just vampires when you could've did a pack including ALL of them? Oh, I know. Because you must pay for the rest in their own separate packs if you want them. TS3 had broader subjects with it's expansions: With University life, even if I didn't Care to send my Sims to Uni there was still more that the expansion added to the game so it felt like money well bought. With Cats & Dogs and Get To Work, for example, if you're not planning on having an active career right away or getting a pet, then its useless to you because it just adds on those things only. I don't know how to word all that, it just felt like the way EA is going. All in All, I like the Sims 4. It's a swell, smooth game. If the prices were spliced in half since most of their content itself is spliced, I wouldn't mind paying for it. But it's still too average, not enough content, and EA is too focused on breaking down TS3 expansions into tiny packs for TS4 so you have to bug multiple packs to get one big feature, while also coming up with odd ideas nobody quite wanted (their cash grab) I love the Sims 3. Even hearing it's theme gives me extreme 2010-11 nostalgia (even though I was released in 09). it's content was rich, gameplay good, but the fact that the game ran so clonky even on superior computers and you couldn't even play all expansions without lag hurt it. And EA never tried to fix it. (But Gurus now are actively trying to troubleshoot and update ts4, even though their advice on the forums for "fixing your game" still sucks) Anyway, this is too long again XD. I'm glad ts4 community is still civil with what they want tho. :') will EA ever fully listen?

Do you not remember the hysteria when the business as usual bistro wasn't exactly like OFB, or the hysteria when you couldn't sell craftables in your shops? Luna Knight: The community suffers a collective memory leak, where some people refuse to acknowledge, that when they are complaining about sims 4 monetization practice, they are raging about something that actually began with sims3. That whole online store was just plain garbage. I am actually very impressed with the way they handled sims 4. It is definitely a step in the right direction, form the notorious milking days of sims 3.

Sooo true. The sims 4 has grown on me but honestly after sims 3 it’s like I have to pick my battles :/ but I learned the hard way after getting too excited and buying certain packs that didn’t come with much of anything and then realizing I could’ve bought it later for way cheaper with those sales!!! Gonna wait to see reviews on it to see if it’s even worth buying at all but I do hope it is lol....

Seasons yes, not sure about university but probably, but seasons is an expansion, this is a game pack and is made by a different team. Expansions are only ever released in fall for Sims 4.

Dawn Gēmu will you please stfu. They're probably working on seasons or another ep. EA is listening to us. We asked for a pets ep, then we got cats and dogs. We asked for a generations pack then got parenthood.

To be fair, in sims 3 the seasons and university packs cane out like 3 years into the games release. I really want this pack (I loved World Adventures,) but it does kinda suck that expansions take a year it seems. I really want seasons, university and a supernatural pack. But I gotta wait for those.

I feel like peeople forget that all these major expansions were released a lot sooner in previous games. Sims 4 takes forever. And probably coz they keep putting focus on smaller stupid packs. I'm sure their team is big, but they need to expand more to put more people in charge of major expansions so they will get done faster, and WAY smaller teams for the game packs. I just feel its not balanced well. The ONLY game pack I wanna see is a Career based one. With new "rabit hole Careers" as well as get to work type careers. I'm tired of my sims being the same things that dont even fit who I think they are.

Seasons is being worked on, I'm sure. But as said below, or above can't tell where this comment will go xD this is a GamePack, it's an entirely differnt team working on this. Unless Seasons turns out to be a GamePack, then well yeah I agree, they should have that out by now. But theme releasing a GamePack or Stuff Pack does not stop them from working on other packs and getting them to release.

The temples will change layouts, traps and loot randomly so unlike the tombs in 3, this will always be something new to explore.

I personally love the vampires, and theres, in my opinion, heaps to them for just being a game pack, but I might be a bit biased due to my love of the supernatural.

That would be better than this. If you couldn't provide us with huge open world, do at least the best by making it a finite space instead of trying to make forest, jungles and mountains seems "infinite" and failed doing that.

lViry77 They could do DLC of all worlds, but trust me it would not be a stuff pack. And since the base game, which is $60 dollars has three worlds, I would assume a $40 expansion would have only two worlds if it was just one. If you want gameplay that forget about another worlds.

To be fair... remember Generations that had stuff at every age level and Parenthood which just focused down on one section... but was pretty great? Or Vampires that didn't have all of the different supernaturals but frankly had a way more interesting supernatural progression than in the past? Narrow focus doesn't necessarily mean shallow gameplay.
