WOW..........that death may be in my top 5 of all the games in the franchise. It's so morbid and realistic. Almost creepy how their bodies are just floating in the water. Bravo!!! Bravo!!! Also, just great job in general. I don't know why people are worried other features. The Sims Team has proven that they are listening and trying their best. They have worked pretty fast getting both ghosts and pools to us FOR FREE! Also, I'm assured they will have some interesting expansions/content coming in the future. I'm one of those people that will criticize EA when they have messed up but, there's nothing to criticize here. It's a great job well done. Also, if you can make partial above ground pools if you raise the foundation height. That's sweet for me because I do have an above ground. I wouldn't worry too much about "pool objects" like the diving board. They'll come in a family or tropical expansion maybe even seasonal.

My update is currently happening, so pumped for this! I love how you added the classic "surrounding the pools with walls to kill the sims you always hated but never knew what to to with" death to the trailer, let's admit it, this is how we all killed them, this is my favorite death in the history of Sims to be honest. Unwanted sims in the household were coming to get ya!

Remember when Sims 3 first came out, everyone hated it for ages because it wasn't as good as Sims 2. Now you're all complaining Sims 4 isn't as great as the Sims 3. Make up your mind, people. XD

Okay, I've been playing sims since i was 6 and now I'm 19 years old, as you may guessed I've played ALL of the Sims series from 1 - 3 complete with their expansions. My favourite so far is sims 3, since all the expansions are what I've always wanted for my sims (well except for the Katy Perry one). When I saw the first trailer of sims 4, I was a little disappointed with the cartoony appearance of the sims, but as I've watched other youtubers played it, I started to like the new sims designs. And then, I was shocked to find out that they did not include swimming pools in this game, swimming pools are supposed to be a staple in each of the sims base game, and i was worried that EA might force us to pay for swimming pools upgrade. Luckily they heard our complaints and finally gave us swimming pools. HOWEVER, I'm still a little bit cautious since I've always heard about the complaints for loading screens and NO TODDLERS what?! SEriously, what I love about sims 3 is that our sims could be actual parents to their child by teaching them how to walk, talk and even potty trained in real life! And no cars too?! it's almost like EA went backwards and delete all the good stuff and gave us loading screens... EA, The Sims was my childhood and still IS my favourite game of all time, I still have faith in you, do not disappoint us. In the mean time I'll be playing Sims 3 until I'm convinced enough that Sims 4 is worthy for 60 bucks. Don't get me wrong, I think Sims 4 is great, with the awesome multitasking features and building designs, i think they're great improvement as well as the get to work expansion pack - they're all look awesome, BUT I think I'll wait a little longer to see more improvements, which I believe they will give us soon :)

They are so much cooler with the new ways you can do it, the adding onto decks and having windows through them and also on different levels of your home, so awesome!

This trailer looks seriously cool! I love that we can now build pools on upper floors, the windows kinda make it look like an aquarium, looks really nice :D and of course, you had to include the classic "drowning in the pool" XD oh no, I'm dead, well, better keep partying XD but I'm worried about that little girl, either she was really distracted and failed to notice the Reaper, or she didn't care O.o

For once EA gave us something we desperately wanted without asking us to cough up money first. This is so sweet of them. Even though there are no diving boards or tons of swim suits, its base game quality and it's free.

I'm having so much trouble adding a rooftop pool help!! I had no trouble putting it in there but now there is just a big pool with windows on the roof and it won't let me place flooring up there it just automatically wants to put it on the lower floor even though it's on the highest one and when I try to build walls to create a room up there is says operation gen failed. AHHH. Is it because it's the third floor or? I'm so confused!

Finally! this is what i was expecting pools to be like in the Sims 3! seriously they needed some work thanks for making this happen (i was worried for a bit when you didn't have pools)

I'm honestly stoked to replay my game. This is an awesome patch. But why so much negativity for this game? It's a new title and obviously they had to start over again. Create a style was fun but until they can get it to work without complication I rather have a incomplete game then a buggy one. Keep up the good work Maxis

So not only are they bringing back pools, but they're also adding a bunch of features that many people wanted from pools for awhile: The ability to build them pretty much anywhere and the ability to add windows to them. Of course people still complain about how it should've been part of the base game or complain about how people are complaining rather than focusing on how well they've upgraded the feature itself. Well, besides diving boards. I can only guess it's because of the amount of work require to implement the thing. Besides the diving animations themselves they have to make the water react realistically to the diving Sim and as the graphics and engines become more sophisticated those effects need to match up properly. Chances are they'll be added in a free patch somewhere down the line as well.

Omg, I made a nightclub like the house at 0:48 and my sim was in the pool and it was playing this music! The game knows...

I assume this patch will be $60, unless you buy the supreme mega collectors pack for $120.00 which includes a diving board. It's nice to see EA making their loyal customers happy.
